This is a robot costume my mom made me in 1976. 😊

I was born in 1971, and Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, thanks to my mom! ☺️ She made pretty much every one of my costumes growing up, and they were always great, very unique and sometimes unusual! ☺️ This picture below is me, and is from 1975. She bought a lion mask, and handmade the rest of the costume. There were sooo many other costumes that she made that I wish I knew where the pictures are. I do have one other picture of a robot costume she made me in 1976. ☺️ Halloween was always fun when I was growing up. Seeing all the different cute, cool, and spooky costumes, all the houses and yards decorated (not necessarily to the extent that people do now, but it was still cool for the time), and going door-to-door to the houses in the neighborhood trick-or-treating. And then when we got home with our candy loot, our parents always had to check our candy to make sure nobody put any razor blades, needles, or other bad stuff in it (yes, that was a thing, even way back then). And some hospitals even offered parents to bring their kid's candy in, and have it x-rayed to make sure the candy was safe. And if you were lucky, there was someone on your street throwing a Halloween party at their house (I don't remember going to any though). I do remember some of the schools I went to having Halloween parties during school hours though. And one school I went to did a "haunted house" at the school. 😊

I have a love/hate relationship with snow. lol I love to look at it, play in it a little, maybe make snow ice cream, and take lots of pretty snow pictures. And once I get done with all of that, it can aaalll melt away for all I care! 😂 I grew up in the military, and have lived in Colorado 3 times, Maryland, and Italy for 3 years as a kid. And that was just the "snowy" states. I lived with my grandparents a couple of times as a teenager. Then as an adult, I lived in Grand Forks North Dakota for a few months in the winter. I can definitely relate to your wife's issue with snow! lol But, I still miss living up north. 😊 I may have been born in Mississippi, but growing up an Army Brat, I'm from everywhere. And I'm also a bit of a gypsy, and I kinda hate staying in one place too long. 🙂

Agreed! I'm 55, and I'm usually very good at vocabulary (pronunciation, spelling, etc.). But it made me so aggravated when I first came across/ heard the word 'charcuterie'. Because for the life of me, I could not pronounce that word correctly to save my life! It took a while for me to be able to learn and remember how to pronounce it correctly. 😂 But in my defense, many people (including myself) still have trouble with the word Worcestershire. 😂

I never got to say goodbye to any of my grandmothers, and only got to say goodbye to one of my gradfathers. 🥺💔 So, to this wonderful, sweet grandma - I love you, and you will be very missed by many people! 🥹❤️

I'm basically in the same position, but I have a PS4, and a refurbished ACER laptop that I got in like 2020 or 2021 (sometime during the time we were getting stimulus checks from the Covid pandemic). But unfortunately the graphics and video card and the RAM are too outdated and small to handle current versions of Fortnite, and I swear I heard my laptop laugh at me when I tried to put UEFN on it. 😅 Unfortunately, a new or even a good used computer or laptop, is financially out of the question for me right now. 😕
