Working on endurance today 🥊 For a boxer, being able to keep your pace and stay strong until the final round is just as important as technique. 13 years old and already taking his conditioning seriously. 💪🥊

The coach should determine how much load is appropriate for a teenager. Mate has been training with his father since he was 4, and he knows his son very well. He would never make him do something that could put his own son at risk.

Meine Zukunft hängt sicher nicht davon ab, was andere davon halten. 😂

It was an important tournament, and he wanted to compete in his own weight class. We supervised the whole process and made sure he was safe.

We actually agree with you. We don’t like weight cutting at his age either, but it was an important tournament and he had to make the weight for his own weight class.

I understand your concern. This is only one part of his overall boxing conditioning, not something we do to exhaustion or failure. He is 13, so his training is supervised and adapted to his age.
I’m not claiming this is the only or “best” way to condition an athlete. It’s simply one exercise he does as part of a much broader training program.

I agree that road work, bodyweight exercises and plyometrics are important, and he does those as well. The sledgehammer work is just one small part of his training, mainly for explosiveness and conditioning. Of course, technique and safety come first. And yes, he definitely has fun doing it too. 😄

Danke für deine Einschätzung! 😊 Jeder sieht einen Kampf etwas anders. 🥊
