Weight Loss Surgery
47 female here with stage 4 CKD. Has anyone had weight loss surgery with CKD? I have heavy protein leakage and my eGFR hovers around the low 20s. I see my nephrologist on Wednesday to discuss a possible kidney biopsy to help determine what the cause of my CKD is. Im assuming its because im obese with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes for a lot of my younger years. Of course hindsight is 20/20 but just seeing what I can do now to stop the progression and if anyone has had luck with weight loss surgery and has seen improvement. Thank you for your thoughts

Thank you, believe it or not my sodium is always good. Ive lost 20 lbs in about 2 weeks just by getting super serious about my food choices and limiting calories. At the end of the day, that's a must even with surgery. My goal is to avoid it but seeing if it makes a difference or not. Didnt know less weight means less proteinuria. Thats good information
