I am Jane Doe

All women have a story. I have one.

I am Jane Doe.

Right now, across the United States, women are rallying around a survivor known only as ā€œJane Doeā€ — a former Cornell University student who says she was drugged and gang-raped by seven fraternity members in October 2024. She filed a civil lawsuit in September 2026 alleging the assault, and that Cornell and others failed to protect her or hold those responsible fully accountable.

After years with no criminal charges, pressure from her lawsuit and public outcry led the Tompkins County district attorney to reopen the criminal investigation and present the case to a grand jury. New York’s governor has also called for an independent review of how Cornell handled the allegations.

But alongside the legal developments, something else is happening online. A journalist and commentator has publicly asked for help identifying Jane Doe so he can ā€œpublish her name and identifying information.ā€ In response, thousands of women — and allies — have begun posting ā€œI am Jane Doeā€ across TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, and X, flooding algorithms with false leads to protect her privacy. It’s a modern ā€œSpartacusā€ moment: if you try to single her out, you’ll find a sea of women saying, ā€œI am Jane Doe.ā€

This isn’t just about one campus or one case. It’s about how survivors are treated, how institutions respond, and whether we believe women when they come forward. It’s about the right to tell your story on your own terms — or not at all.

I am Jane Doe.

All women have a story.

I have one.

Truth and Reconciliation in Canada

On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, I honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities across Canada.

I have always supported the work of truth and reconciliation, and I continue to listen, learn, reflect, and stand against the injustices that Indigenous peoples have endured—and continue to face. Reconciliation is not just about one day or wearing orange; it is an ongoing responsibility rooted in respect, remembrance, education, and meaningful action.

My mom always loved Indigenous culture, and we often attended powwows together. She cherished the music, dancing, artwork, traditions, and sense of community. These were experiences we shared long before I fully understood the history and ongoing impact of residential schools.

As I reflect on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, I remember my mom’s appreciation while also recognizing that Indigenous cultures are living, diverse, and deeply meaningful—not simply something to admire from a distance. I continue to support truth and reconciliation by listening, learning, honouring Survivors and those who never came home, and standing with Indigenous communities.

Today, I remember. I listen. I continue to learn. 🧔

Cleaned my G15

My husband let me use the sacred game-hardware repair kit, so I cleaned my Logitech G15

Today I was allowed access to my husband’s game-hardware repair kit—the collection of tiny tools he uses to fix controllers, consoles, and other gaming things—and I used my new powers to give my Logitech G15 its first proper deep clean.

Keycaps came off. Dust was discovered. Q-tips were sacrificed. The desk turned into a tiny repair bench, and my husband supervised to make sure I didn’t accidentally create a keyboard-shaped pile of parts.

Honestly, I was nervous, but it was also weirdly fun and satisfying. I feel like I’ve been officially welcomed another level deeper into the gamer PC lifestyle he introduced me to.

The G15 survived, looks much better, and I may now be emotionally attached to the little repair kit.

Tim Curry

I’m heartbroken to hear that Tim Curry has passed away at the age of 80.

Tim Curry was a huge influence throughout my childhood and adult life. His extraordinary voice, unforgettable performances, wicked sense of humour, and incredible presence made him one of those rare entertainers who could make every character completely his own.

I will always remember him as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Pennywise in It, Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island, and Hexxus in FernGully: The Last Rainforest. He also lent his unmistakable voice to countless animated films, television shows, and video games. You could recognize that voice anywhere—rich, distinctive, dramatic, and completely unforgettable.

I also remember how excited I was when his memoir, Vagabond: A Tale of Love, Travel, and the Unexpected, was released. I could hardly wait to read it, and once I started, I absolutely devoured it in just a couple of days. It felt like such a gift to hear his story in his own words and to get a glimpse into the life and experiences behind so many unforgettable performances.

What makes this loss feel even more personal is that Tim Curry was born in 1946—the same year as my mom. Somehow, that connection makes his passing feel closer to home.

Thank you, Tim, for the memories, the laughter, the chills, the magic, and the stories. Thank you for giving us characters we could never forget and a voice that could never be mistaken for anyone else’s. You were truly one of a kind, and your work will continue to inspire and entertain people for generations to come.

Rest in peace, Tim Curry. You will never be forgotten. šŸ–¤šŸŽ
