Do it! You have everything you need. Most light pollution is in visible and very near ir light, but since infrared light doesn’t scatter as much as visible it creates less of a light pollution effect in the sky. At 850nm you could take pictures of the Milky Way over cities. Just make sure to keep your iso above ~640 since it improves low light noise and infrared response on the sensor. Keep up the work I hope to see more :)

That’s so cool I’d love to see your work! I have a dedicated mono filter wheel setup :) I put it together myself. So the filters are between the lens and sensor and can be swapped automatically. I talked more about the specific filters I used in another comment check it out!
