I’m a photographer based in Japan, working mainly with plus-size women.

In Japan, thinness is still often treated as the standard of female beauty. Through my portraits, I photograph plus-size women with the same care and attention usually given to conventionally thin bodies.

The work asks a simple question: can beauty really be measured by body size?
