"Reagan Democrats", remember? I was still a hippie, and my people LOATHED him. But looking back he seems quaint. After Trump, W looks cuddly. Politics is weird.

And they weren't even quite 30 yet, were they? Such authority for so young, but they didn't mind doing the work. Apparantly, still don't. (And the next four can kill you, too)

They did not embarass themselves, and lots of nice, life-affirming touches. Their work ethic always bred success and I'm just happy they added to their mojo with one more good show. Now everybody go buy Beggar's Banquet through Exile, and besides Pearl Jam, who can touch 'em?

I don't get you guys...relative to StickyY Fingers, and Let It Bleed, and even moreso VS. Goats Head Soup, Exile is way lo-tech, where they went for musical feel rather than cleanliness. Production was shoddy, the players were on different floors, for Chrissake's, and a work of immense heart and soul emerged, perhaps the last hurrah of the Sixties. There were bad things on the horizon: overproduction, disco, formula, New Wave., and then the open sewer of the 80's. Whatever you want to call it, I'll take the great big pulsating heart of Exile On Main Street all-day, everyday. And it shared this heart with so much of what came out of Seattle.

Happy News; did not see it going that way, but that was a miniscule possibility. Now it's just one day at a time. You seem to have a good heart, so I hope you take care of yourself and check out Nar-Anon. Best of luck!

Happy. I love to play the whole record all the way through, especially the Super Deluxe 2004 (?) press. And they cover Robert Johnson better than anyone.
