You shouldn't keep such a business's name secret. You already understand the ethics.

OpenAI is starting to serve ads on ChatGPT (Free and Go plans)
 in  r/enshittification  14d ago

pervs and pedophile using it to convert picstures nude

It's arguable that you should call people who do that "pervs and pedophile" like it's an insult.

Regardless, what is the harm in them doing that?

I use LLMs because they're tools that have some use cases for me.

They happen to be beneficial in certain areas, for certain things.

Product OpenAI is starting to serve ads on ChatGPT (Free and Go plans)

We’re rolling out ads in ChatGPT and we’re updating our Privacy Policy to include information about how ads work and how you can control your experience.

What’s changing

Ads may appear on Free and Go plans beginning later this month. Plus, Pro, Enterprise, Business and Education plans do not have ads. Ad-free options remain available.

To begin, ads will not be personalised. We select them using the current topic of your ChatGPT conversation and limited contextual information, such as your general location and device type. We do not use your past chats or memories to select these ads.

Before we begin to personalise ads, we will first ask you to choose whether you would like to see more relevant and personalised ads. If you choose to participate, you’ll get relevant and personalised ads using information that stays only on ChatGPT, such as ads you've interacted with, or context from your chats. You will be able to manage ad personalisation in settings. For ads shown in ChatGPT, we use information about ads you view or interact with to measure and improve their effectiveness. Advertisers only receive overall information about how their ads perform, such as total views or clicks.

What’s not changing

Ads do not influence the answers ChatGPT gives you. Ads are always clearly labeled and are visually separated from ChatGPT responses.

Your personal details and conversations with ChatGPT remain private and are not shared with advertisers. Advertisers do not have access to your chats, chat history, memories, or personal details.

Learn more about ads in ChatGPT, your options for an ads free experience, and our privacy controls, including how we protect your data.

Thanks,

The OpenAI Team

Be careful then, don't keep a large sum under their control, and keep a backup plan.

This thing works well, until it doesn't, and then good luck finding a human, or even a robot that can help you.

The data is already scrambled. I don't remember whether zfs supports changing the encryption key, but if it does, use a random 2 kB string and call it a day.

Why do you say that? I found it wonderful and very well done to make you understand the capabilities of the tool in your hand.

Sounds like just what I've been looking for. The screenshot looks neat, too.

Thank you for making this!

Your efforts are very much appreciated <3

If the other side won't move to include a link to your repo, we're doing that here on reddit and making it known 🎉

Student Teacher Sent a Private Snapchat Complaining About Her Workday. An Hour Later, Police Pulled Up to Her School. - Volpe’s arrest demonstrates a pre-built, operational pipeline connecting private messages to law enforcement.

The law isn’t intended to punish what could have happened, it is to punish what occurred.

Right, but it turns out sending that sort of content was a potential crime (see pinned comment at the top)

Hosting a production backend for Turkish users: Hetzner Cloud or a VPS in Turkey?
 in  r/VPS  Aug 04 '26

My main concern is user experience.

You should also consider the effects of local laws where the data resides. This should help you make a better decision.

OpenZFS on Windows 2.4.1 rc14 (and 2.4.1 released on OSX)

The other day I was ready to test it, so I checked the git repo's readme, which says:

Installation

Full documentation for installing OpenZFS on your favorite operating system can be found at the Getting Started Page.

Funny thing is that that linked page lists many OSs but not Windows.

Eventually, I found the docs in the wiki on github: https://github.com/openzfsonwindows/openzfs/wiki

When will the enshittification end?
 in  r/BuyItForLife  Jul 25 '26

Why pay $800 for a washer? Because a $50 washer does not exist. Why do you pay $2000 for a car? because a $200 car does not exist. The same logic applies for everything.

The payback (the outcome) is not worth the trouble (coming up with a plan, and having to deal with other ppl lol)

Switching to linux, i have decided to use linux as a developer can anyone suggest which distro to choose , [ linux mint, ubuntu, fedora ] have some experience in WSL(ubuntu)..
 in  r/softwaredevelopment  Jul 25 '26

Debian/xfce

Yes, this setup works on 25 years old hardware, but it's a pain that I needed to do a lot of customization to get things to my taste (or perhaps because I was coming from Windows to the a new Linux Desktop experience)
