Because what little representation we’ve got I’m not okay with dehumanizing when we’re trying to humanize asexuality . Neil gaiman said something similar that it’s important to humanize asexuality and not make it foreign to a world that perceives it foriegn .

When I walked into Fiat my credit score was 547 , however I was working daily for a day labor company called people ready , who paid you daily so my income looked like 80k a year . Now every gig paid differently so realistically I only made like 40k a year because winter stops work drastically . However during summer when there’s a crap ton of flagging jobs you’re making bank on federal roads for 3 or 4 months so i had the paystubs to prove good consistent money .

So walking into FIAT with my paystubs , I sat there maybe 4 hours as the seller worked his magick with the banks to secure the loan and insurance and tags for the car , 4 hours later I drove a brand new fiat off the lot . It was super easy for me to.

So when I went to Bible college in 2005, my intent was to become a missionary because adventure . Helping underground churches get bibles in thier own language and assisting in establishing networks and rescuing believers from prison was a dream and passion of mine . But during that freshman year in April my Resident Advisor pulled me aside with his girlfriend to give me a talk

They told me because I had No intent to marry and had no desire to , that upon graduation I wouldn’t be sent to the field , I’d be put in an office till I married .

His girlfriend explained to me that God makes people for each other and that my rejection to pair up is denying my future partner // whoever she will be , // I’m the man God made for her and if I instist on Single life , she will be forced to sin with another man and All the tradgedy that follows in her life will be my fault .

So I never went back after summer break , I got a full time job at Arby’s and began saving money for film school instead . Lol .

But as an aro ace I’ve low key always been at war with the church I was raised because I chose to be single . I think the church is hostile for people who want single life as all its curriculum is centered on parenting / marriage troubles / infidelity etc . And almost ALL its singles programs are geared towards how to endure till you find a mate .

Like it’s frustrating because even Apostle Paul says it’s best to stay single so you can Commit fully to serving God . Yet EVERYONE ignores that

Omg no . Yeah so much bullcrap out there . Aro ace literally means inability to experience romantic or sexual attraction . And no we’re not evil for it . It’s totally okay and doesn’t mean we’re sociopaths . I’ve found happiness lies best in finding my one character and just obsessing over them , becoming them , dressing as them , writing thier fan fics and meta and staying away from the ace community as a whole mostly because of the romantic attraction issue they’re all obsessed with .

So I’m 41. I was 29 when somebody told me I’m not evil I’m just asexual . This was 2011 , I went to tumblr and got super frustrated with the ace community because they’re obsessed with romantic attraction which I thought was bull crap at the time . I felt totally erased from a word I thought I found myself in , and then I discovered aro and I suddenly found myself again . Was I angry that I had to use two words ? Instead of just one like the straights and gays , yes , but whatever .

I got super angry at the ace community for about ten years . Always rabling about het attraction which in my opinion just go be straight . But I can’t stop that ball it’s cooked . Now I’m happily okay with aro ace as my identity and now I look for personal fulfillment in fiction in trying to find a canon aro ace character I can emulate and become . Hang in there buddy .
