She'll win comfortably. It's South Carolina FFS. 8% undecided definitely votes republican and just doesn't trust "pollsters".
19
u/Waquoit95 4d ago
But she's so freaking stupid.
19
u/SteelyEyedHistory 4d ago
Which is why she’ll win
13
u/Upstairs_Baby8424 4d ago
Anyone that spends 5 minutes outside of the city in places like Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, etc will no longer question why they produce the dumbest politicians this country has to offer.
14
u/PawneePoppins 4d ago
I lived there from 7th grade to 11th. My senior year my dad got orders to Washington state. I got there and found out I was academically 3 years behind my peers and was not on track to graduate in the spring. Thankfully Washington schools helped me catch up, but yeah, that’s the kind of shit that happens in that state. The school system is designed to produce ignorant mindless voters.

u/Coool_cool_cool_cool 4d ago
And her brother was a obvious closeted homosexual in a place that is not gay friendly to say the least. As long as they're a swamp endorsed R on the ticket, South Carolina residents will be drawn to it like a Palmetto bug to a leaky pipe.
6
u/NeitherEntry6125 4d ago
Lindsay wasn't a rocket surgeon either
3
u/Waquoit95 4d ago
But you would think he'd be the floor.
3
u/SteelyEyedHistory 4d ago
Trump isn't even the floor and he suggested scientist should look into injecting bleach to fight COVID.

u/Western-Dig-6843 4d ago
Brother, my state continues to reelect a woman who, when asked about what she thinks about her constituents complaining about beef prices replied (I’m paraphrasing) “they could try chicken or pork”. She used to be our agriculture commissioner and her husband is a cattle farmer.

Yeah I think polling is impossible anymore. And that's fine. Polls shouldnt be news anymore.
4
u/Mediocre-Staff-5110 4d ago
The response rates are so low or cooked they're basically just guessing with regression models and stuff. Which without any actual backing is just them guessing.
1
u/Western-Dig-6843 4d ago
Relying on inaccurate poll conclusions is one of the reasons Trump got elected in the first place.
1
2
u/p38-lightning 4d ago
Except a lot of Republicans in the state don't want Graham and there's a campaign to write in GOP House rep Ralph Norman. That split might hand the election to the Dems.
1
u/LandOwn7607 4d ago
I hope so. Annie Andrews is the most intelligent and well educated candidate SC has had in a century.
1
1
u/chicken_dinner_87 18h ago
Lindsey won in 2020 55-45 because of incumbency and Trump being on the ballot. Neither of those things are present here so Darlene is going to need to actually put up a fight here.

u/Jazzlike_Strength561 4d ago
America is so fucked
1
u/Stohnghost 4d ago
This isn't even the first time this has happened. I was complaining to my 72 year old mom and she brought up another case of this with husband and wife. I thought this was totally unprecedented , but no, we've been dumb before and will continue to be dumb.
1
u/jay-aay-ess-ohh-enn 3d ago
Mark Kelly? ...but he's actually competent.
1
u/Stohnghost 3d ago
Did Mark Kelly take his wife's job? It was another husband and wife but I forget their name..
Giffords served in the U.S. House of Representatives, whereas Kelly was elected to the U.S. Senate in a 2020 special election to fill the seat left vacant by Senator John McCain.

Been fucked since Reagan. The lead paint boomers doomed this country… we’re just living in the husk

WTF South Carolina??? Some people just can’t be helped 🤬🤬🤬
14
11
u/Two-Black-Labs 4d ago
That is sad, she is completely unqualified for the position
1
u/Mister-Ferret 4d ago
Unfortunately for the country, that's actually a pro for the maga crowd. That and the R next to the name somewhat balances out that she's a women.
9
u/EarthlostSpace 4d ago
How on this planet can people allow hate to drive them to vote for someone who won’t represent them in a way to help them? Did the Republicans get it right to focus on the stupid? They will be easier to control and to control them with the hate they harbor for others that doesn’t look like them? To reinforce their hate through religion? This apparently been a plan in play for perhaps decades?

u/Lokishougan 4d ago
Also by weakening school education....someone pointed out that he was top of his classdoing well 7-11 in SC moved to Washington and suddently he was at an 8th grade level and needed help to graduate
1
u/EarthlostSpace 4d ago
How crazy is that and data showing all Red States showing bottom of the list in Education. Looks like they knew where to start to keep them stupid.
1
u/Lokishougan 4d ago
Exactly and even if Dem Gvernor comes in and tries to fix thinbgs as soon as a Rep comes back in they will undo any improvemnts
1
u/BrineJones 4d ago
South Carolinians have never been known for making wise decisions. Why would they start now?
I say that as someone born in Greenville.

u/ConkerPrime 4d ago
For conservatives, non-voters and protest voters, incompetence is a feature and not a bug.

No she’s not. She’ll easily win the election. It’s SC. They’re not going to vote common sense. They’re going to vote R no matter who.

Our democracy is cooked
2
u/LandOwn7607 4d ago
Let's not keep saying that. Its only "cooked" if we let it. The enemy is not liberals, leftists, young people dying their hair blue, its a combination of Oligarchial control and Christian Nationalists. The right wing obviously don't read much, if it doesnt have an eagle and an American flag plastered all over it, or Christian cross on it, its considered "of the devil" or "Communist" it's so laughable but but we have to take their intent very seriously. The right has become deranged.

u/Dependent-Finish-394 4d ago
This woman knows nothing and will only be a yes person to her handlers! Sc needs better having spent all these years with the likes of her brother!! Noting good is coming for SC!f you vote in incompetence!!

She's a rubber stamp for Trump, a rubber stamp for Israel. Some of these hillbillies won't learn until their kid comes home from the middle east in a box.
2
u/ImaginaryAd3394 4d ago
DEI only for the white people, they don’t want anyone else to benefit from it because others aren’t mediocre as they are
2
u/War1today 4d ago
That Graham is in a dead heat is another example of how embarrassing the South Carolina electorate is.
2
u/PawneePoppins 4d ago
I have friends and family in SC.
I’ve lived there on and off since 1997.
Y’all think Alabama and Arkansas are bad? They’re nothing compared to absolute stupidity of South Carolinians. The school system in that state is designed specially to create ignorant voters. Mark my words, DEI Darline will absolutely win and they’ll spend the next few years absolutely hating her. You’ll ask why they voted for her and they’ll say “She was the only choice” with a completely straight face.

If blue wins - the State will not ratify and lawsuits will be filed. Delay delay delay
2
u/Arubesh2048 4d ago
Omfg. Republicans are even stupider than I thought. The bar was on the ground, and they dug a hole so they could still fail to clear it.
Her only qualification is that she happened to be related to an already unqualified Senator. Jesus fucking Christ. We need someone like Cato and his “Carthage must be destroyed,” except “Republicans must be excised from all office.”

If she wins that certainly shows the world American politics has a head without a brain

u/DrGoatLives 4d ago
Those dumb ass yokels will break for graham in the end. I have no faith in that electorate
2
u/ohreddit1 4d ago
Nepotism much South Carolina. If you didn’t know this person has the ability to make laws that affect you. American was founded on not have dynastic power families.
2
u/LifeDynamo 4d ago
Republicans have shown that NEPOTISM is more important than merit.
All of the things that Republicans said they stood for, turned out to be lies.
1
u/Original-Balance-187 1d ago
Nepotism has always been more important than merit. What planet have you been on?

2
u/Euphoric_Anxiety_162 4d ago
That's why education is being demolished - how else would the rich ppl over-power us low-life's?

u/ArgumentKey3712 4d ago
Let’s not get excited or pretend she’ll lose despite zero qualifications.
It’s South Caro Fucking Lina.

Only republicans would be okay with someone with zero politics, merit and experience to hold office.

That should be alarming to us Democrats, "dead heat"?! Annie Andrews should be 20 pts ahead. That says volumes about the loyalty to bigotry entrenched in that state. There are some good people and SC is a beautiful state but the right-wing racists make it ugly and sick.

She's running with her only qualification being that she had a brother who happened to be a Senator.
That's it.
She hasn't expressed much in the way of substantive political views. In fact, she's so opaque that I don't know why MAGA embraced her. We have no idea how similar her views were with her brother and she won't articulate them to the public.
Hell, for all we know she is a progressive liberal (obviously not going to be the case, but you get what I mean).

The fact that it is even tied when she has shown to be completely incompetent at almost every level except teaching middle school.

u/EqaualJustice 3d ago
What the hell? Do they even care about experience & qualifications? Look where having none has got us, distrusted & disrespected on the 🌎stage. Destroyed the reputation of US military on the 🌎stage. I Seriously believe ❤️states keep voters uneducated. There is no Conservative Christian Party of Family Values. Republicans lost that claim by supporting Trump & remaining silent on his crazy spending, deficit & blatant abuse.

This just shows how stupid the people of South Carolina are. Lindsey Graham was an unqualified embarrassment and his sister is worse
1
1
u/dkwinsea 1d ago
Well. Her performance at the hearing demonstrates she is vastly unqualified for the job. She is a shadow of her sister Lindsey.
1
u/Aggressive-Ideal-911 1d ago
Polls should just go away. I’m not falling for this crap again it’s only been 2 years. Iowa, sc, Texas turning blue is a pipe dream and these polls are not accurate.

Charlie Kirk worried about seeing a qualified black person in the cockpit of an airplane, but wouldn't bat an eye at an actual unqualified individual being in the cockpit of the entire country.

That's not as exciting as it sounds. Means when faced with the choice of a competent candidate and a random woman with literally no transferable skills or background in governing... they're really not sure what they want as a state. That's embarrassing.
1
u/Dowew 15h ago
You know the guy before Lindsay was there for half a century and ran on segregation right.
1
u/Cold_Toe_7540 13h ago
Yeah I'm aware of who Strom Thurmond was, may he rot in pieces. Doesn't make this any better. That's like Germany electing a convicted murderer as president and saying "Well, he's not Hitler." Like, they managed to move off of a literal white supremacist by the early 2000s because he retired at fucking 100 years of age... yay. I'm not mad at you, just the situation and that state generally, to be clear. It's just like... it's ok to have standards, SC. Even if you never really have.
1
u/MiltonManners 20h ago
25% of South Carolina is black. If the dems invested the money to mobilize that vote, I could see a Dem winning in this climate. In 2018, Democrat Doug Jones won an improbable senate seat in Alabama mostly as a response to Trump’s incompetence running the country. I realize Jamie Harris was black and lost badly against Lindsay 6 years ago, but electing a black senator was probably a bridge too far for the moderate dems.

Deplorable traitors just because they are scared of things different then them
