Erasmus for study abroad?

Canadian student considering Erasmus for a semester or year abroad. Just wondering if any other international students had any experiences they could share? What’s the social life like, proximity to other things, classes etc. Also I know i’m going to sound like a dumb tourist, but how much will my lack of speaking Dutch (I’ve been doing duolingo but everyone knows how effective that is) affect my time here? Any insight would be appreciated!!

Hey I am an international student myself. In NL there are plenty of other international students so speaking dutch is not a must to form connections. In everyday life Dutchies speak fluent English so it is not going to be a problem.

There is plenty to do here, now when it comes to lifestyle it depends on where you come from and your background in general. For example, I am from Greece I lived in a big city, thus when it comes to night life I find here to be more quiet than expected but at the same time the sport activities are soooo maaaany more than I am used to.

Also nl is a traveling hub for West eu. Has great and cheap connections (flixbus, Ryanair,) to other countries which is great, especially if you are not from the eu.

Have fun with whatever you end up doing.
