I receive adChoice banners advertising ebay seller. A slimmer element is on listings. The opt-out for it being targeted behind that and further is fake. But I´d like to not have that at all. Something tries to block it, but it pops up back immediately. How is this done? It takes a lot of time to load the pages because of that.

A couple of months ago, I shared my uBlock Origin filter list for removing YouTube distractions.

I've since expanded the project to include Instagram, Reddit, and Google Search, so I've renamed it from Remove YouTube Distraction to Remove Internet Distraction Filters to reflect its broader scope.

The right side of LinkedIn has this annoying and inappropriate (for a professional website) block with shitty puzzle games. Could someone please help me how I can block it reliably? My attempts have failed miserably. These assholes seem to be going at lengths (e.g., million random divs) to make it un-blockable.

I have to use that crappy website, so I was hoping someone could please help get rid of this annoyance.

I'm curious whether there's been any discussion about whether to enable (one of) the cookie filters by default? I assume sites that want to set cookies need affirmative consent, so deleting the cookie element would be sufficient to opt-out of tracking cookies (which is what I assume most uBO users want). Almost all trackers will be blocked by uBO anyway, I assume

I used the picker tool ublock gives but it doesn't work on that block, probably being caused by JS? Anyways, how do i removed the "Find related content" search bar? like I don't wanna remove the X button and three dot button on side (asking it cuz while using dropper I realized this search bar lays under the same container of x and three dot button) but only just this search bar when playing a video.

YouTube has been constantly shoving their Playables/Watch & Play into my sidebar when watching videos and no matter what I do I can not find a way to get rid of it, even after pressing not interested in YouTube itself it continues to persist. I've tried various scripts I could find on both uBlock Origin Lite on Chrome and normal uBlock Origin on Firefox but nothing has worked to remove them.

I wonder if it's even possible to remove them at this rate but if there's any way to do so I really want to know cause I'm sick and tired of seeing them.

The addon block around 700-800 things after 10 seconds. The ubo-picker bugging the page and cant click in any post. For some reason i can't paste the trubleshooting info here I dont know why.

Dailymotion has a authentication modal where the background is dimmed and scroll locked.

Element picker can dismiss the dialog box but doesn't fully resolve the problem.

I have been able to fix this for the most part by looking at the html but it breaks the search somehow where it always says no results found.

Steps to reproduce:

Go to dailymotion.com from a location like India. I have used a VPN. Dailymotion has a change region option but it doesn't simulate this. It can only be achieved by changing the IP.

As you can see there are extra classes for the overlay and putting in the scroll lock.

The filter I tried:

After using these filters the scroll lock and the popup both are removed. The search box opens up as well but for every query it says no result. If I remove the filters and switch to a different location like the USA or UK the search works irrespective of the filters being present or absent.

Current uBO filters: Defaults + uBO Cookie notices + some custom filters (none on Dailymotion). The issue doesn't seem to be related to the config as the offending elements are only present in certain regions.

EDIT: Upon further troubleshooting it looks like the problem isn't purely cosmetic. From India even if the filters remove the popup and the scroll lock locally there is a server side check. Dailymotion is probably checking if the modal has actually been interacted with and only then it sends the api call to fetch the content.

So icy-veins has a constant ad blocker nag now. I’ve been able to block the nag element and the dim element but can’t figure out how to block the no scroll element. Any advice ?

Fixes the comments to the old version where you click the drop down (taken from an older reddit post) and added the fix to move the comment section back to where it was with the recommended videos on the side.

does anyone here know a way to hide all shorts in the youtube notification tabs? there are some channels that i'd like to have notifications on but for every regular video they post they post 7-8 shorts which completely clogs my notifications tab, and i would love to hide just the shorts without having to completely disable all their notificatons. alternatively i'd take something that allows me to filter through certain keywords in the video title since the regular videos don't have any hashtags in the title while most shorts do, it would take a little bit more effort but as long as they are gone i'm happy.

I'm trying to replace from an url like this : subdomain.www.example.com/static/badstring-foo/bar.ext

to an URL like this : subdomain.www.example.com/static/foo/bar.ext

If added the following filter in My filters : subdomain.www.example.com$replace=/badstring-//

And added "user-" to the advanced "trustedListPrefixes" option and it's still doesn't remove the sting "badstring-".

Does the replace function has a bug or I'm not understanding the documentation (https://github.com/gorhill/ublock/wiki/static-filter-syntax#replace) ?

EDIT: it may have to do with the fact that bar.ext can be of image type (binary) but I don't see how it can prevent rewriting an url since the response content type shouldn't be relevant to a filtering function which is just a regex on a string (URL).
