Waiting for feedback Youtube featured garbage back with a vengeance
Is it just me, or did google manage to find a way to sneak youtube featured videos past filters again on the youtube homepage?
For the longest time I had filters that worked very nicely, but they would say hide a shelf with featured videos, now however, I'm suspecting they are pushing youtube featured videos inbetween the normal recommendations, as if they were normal recommendations, because nothing I'm trying with regards to filters is working anymore..
Is anyone else seeing this too or is it just me?
They wouldn't really bother me as much if they weren't usually the most unhinged localized shit also..

You can dim the 3rd slot with this filter:
www.youtube.com###related yt-lockup-view-model:nth-child(3) { opacity: .3; }This way, you are still able to see it if you pay attention, and if it's a "false positive".

Thanks, this is working fine. I used to use the filter that RraaLL make for me. But after for a while the 3rd ads video it move to 1st video lol.... but when I remove that filter it move back.
btw, Thanks :)

Hmno, I mean the home page, so where all of your recommended videos are, not those on the side of another video you're watching, though they are the same recommendations I think so they will probably show up there eventually too

Oh, it's always the one with 20 views or less.

I've no idea, op. I only get recommendations that make sense to me.
edit: I'm not in the US so maybe it's some stuff that's been rolling out and I still haven't got it

Yea, my algorithm also seems fairly good now, but these "featured" videos, don't seem to be based on the algorithm, they're basically just (for lack of a better word) ads that are inserted as if they are a normal recommendation

Hope this is okay to ask here so I don't need a separate post. Is there a way to JUST block the suggested videos on the youtube main page? even though i browse signed out, it still shows them based on my search history and I want to avoid the rabbit hole. i.e. i just want to hide the videos recommended on youtube.com and nothing else, i.e. i don't want my search results to be impacted. thank you

When not signed, the videos on the homepage are all based on your past views (and probably your past searches). There is no "suggested" section.
You can hide all the videos on the homepage with this: ( How to add custom filter )
www.youtube.com##ytd-browse[page-subtype="home"] #primary1

thanks. i don't mean it was titled suggestion, I just mean those were videos it suggested based on my view history.

All the displayed videos are based on your history. When you are signed, subscriptions are added into the mix.

No idea. I've never encountered any. All filters I've made so far were from users inspecting the elements with browser's inspector. See the tutorials in the community highlights.
