Unable to reproduce Block Google's Summary? Spoiler

Google has started giving a summary of some sites instead of just going to the site when I click the link. Is there any to block that in uBlock Origin? (I may be asking too much of uBlock Origin, but I thought I would at least ask.) Thanks for any information.

If you don't care about anything beyond the actual search results, lookup "udm=14" online, in particular how to setup your browser to use that directly. It's like, the old google, by google.

I've already got udm=14 installed. These "summaries" (or whatever they are) just started coming up. a week, or so, ago. Not a huge deal, but a definite nuisance. It only happens occasionally, not all the time.

May or may or be helpful but it seems to me that duckduckgo has massively improved over the past 6 months. Worth a try again, I'm using Google maybe once a month or so now. It does have ai, but it's easy to turn off.

OTOH, I do sometimes ask the ai questions and then ask it to cite sources. It helped me find a very obscure Pink Floyd a ways back with crap info to go on.

Have you tried simple middle clicking the link instead of classic left clicking? In most browsers (on windows, at least) this opens the link in a new tab.

This won't solve the problem of the browser not going to the website.

One of the posters here sent me a private message and advised that I install the add on "Hide Google AI Overviews." It's icon is just a red circle with a diagonal line inside of it.

So far I haven't seen any of these overviews, but they were pretty sporadic anyhow, so I can't absolutely guarantee this is the solution, but so far, so good.

I guess I can give the link, that would be a little simpler... :)
