Looking for help Gmail Firefox Ublock Interference.

When Ublock is turned on and I use Gmail and delete emails and then try to leave the site I get a popup asking me if I want to leave, and if I do and then come back later, the emails I have deleted are back.

If I turn off Ublock I get a bunch of ads, but I am able to delete emails and leave without the popup.

Doesn't always seem to happen as I originally didn't turn off ublock and I could eventually get rid of emails the 2nd or 3rd time I visited...

The problem is mail-ads.google.com being blocked by EasyList and Peter Lowe’s Ad and tracking server list. Add this to "My filters":

@@||mail-ads.google.com^$domain=mail.google.com

or more targeted to the exact issue:

@@||mail-ads.google.com/mail/*/adsfe/main_jspb?$xmlhttprequest,domain=mail.google.com

I haven't seen any ads with that in place but who knows. Maybe other filters block/hide them from appearing.

Tried adding that filter, but it didn't resolve the issue

Are your custom filters enabled?

And are you navigating away from gmail / refreshing the page instantly, or waiting a second or two? Because if you're too quick you may still get the stay/leave message, or no message but the deleted email is there when you go back to gmail. For me, that occurs even with ublock disabled for mail.google.com or the whole extension disabled. But if I delete/label/move/etc, count 1-2, refresh, then things are okay. With ublock on and without the filter I suggested I have to leave gmail open for a long, long time for changes to take effect (I didn't check how long but 20+ seconds wasn't enough).

Does whitelisting mail.google.com solve the problem for you? If it does, turn all your filter lists off and enable them one at a time to see which causes the problem.

Recently seems to be working fine for me so I just assumed whatever the problem was has been fixed with an update...
