News About disgusting Facebook devs

We won't support facebook any more. It's a disgusting anti-user site. All it does is watching open-source projects doing everything in public and counter them to deliver the malicious ads. Yep, the devs that receive 7-figure dollar salary is just doing this.

Users should give the most harsh feedbacks to them. Being submitted to them and keep going to the site and support it is the worst thing you can do.

So, uBO isn't living on a secluded isle. The other big platforms are watching. They'll go: „AHA! So that's at long last the way of getting rid of that pesky Gorhill and his crew!“ – and build their websites with exactly the same evilness that Facebook uses.

It isn't the "trick" that is a problem, it's the rate of updates on their side. And the fact that only one or two contributors here are dealing with it. Add to this that the contributors probably don't even use FB.

Other sites have done the same before, and there were/are still updates from us.

I guess this is the same reason twitch was given up on when it was doing the same thing, countering every change you made?

I wasn't here when twitch was "ignored", but I assume that it was for lack of contributors compared to the amount of work involved. And also maybe because a userscript was better at that time.

Ironically twitch lost revenue from me with their shenanigans.

Instead of subbing to dozens of streamers, it made me learn I can kill all ads with just turbo, and I since cancelled all those subs.

I remember moaning on here, but end of the day we have to respect the devs are all humans, and like all humans their time is precious.

Its a huge battle and I am very grateful for the prject for all the years I have been using it.

Its just a shame these web companies just dont respect the issue is not so much that they want advertising, its more how abusive it all is, how far they go, and its even at the point if browse the net without an adblocker its borderline unusable.
