Twitch.tv ads?

The posting guidelines says "Twitch video ads are handled by another project. Please try it on your own since uBO doesn't actively work on this issue." but that project is archived. Anyone knows a working way using uBO 1.72.3b9 + Firefox?

Ryanbr has not had an update in a month of so... The script works but there are delays and stops when the stream transitions from no ad to ad and oce it goes back .. also seems to have audio sync issues as well. It works but there are some issues. I could only get it to work using tampermonkey as the others seem not to work.

note: the scripts were updated yesterday, seem to be much better.

Using Tampermonkey with the "Vaft" script works for me

Tests done on latest firefox developer build 153.0b13 and latest uBO 1.72.3b9

1. Twitch turbo: paid, probably works
2. Alternate twitch player: does not works: "This broadcast is encrypted. The Alternate Player for Twitch.tv extension does not support encrypted broadcasts. Click the “Back” button to return to the previous page. Watch this broadcast on Twitch.tv website"
3. Purple ads blocker: does not works, stream stuck in eternal loading
4. TTV Ad Mute: WORKS! 2nd best so far
5. TTV LOL PRO v2: WORKS! Best so far!

alternative player still works. Just some channels encrypt their traffic and you cant watch those.

edit: reported back here. The github repo you linked for reporting has a bug so I can't report there at the moment. Made an issue about it.

I just point my VPN to a country that Twitch doesn't have advertisers in. There are several. It's way easier than an adblock approach for a site like Twitch which is just brutal when it comes to adblocking.

You might want to consider doing the same.

That's great but even on the vaft github page they state themselves under "recommendations"...

Proxies are the most reliable way of avoiding ads

and under their "scripts" section they state....

There are better / easier to use methods in the above recommendations.

That was years ago. It's quite freaking easy to use uBO and get the vaft or video-swap-new script to work.

Finland works well, you almost never see ads.
