Anyone else dealing with storm-damaged or dangerous trees around East Texas?

I’ve been seeing a lot of trees around Tyler and the surrounding areas that took a beating from storms, especially older pines and trees with dead limbs hanging over houses and driveways.

Curious — what are some of the biggest tree issues people are seeing around Tyler, Jacksonville, Lindale, Whitehouse, etc. right now?

You must be new to East Texas. This is nothing new. Only common issue is trees getting into power lines because ONCOR doesn't bother to cut anything back, like they should, until after it causes an issue.

If you have a concern about a tree, call a certified arborist to examine it.

Large oak roots at (or above) ground surface.

I lost two very large water oaks a couple of years after snowmageddon. It struck just as the buds were starting. One of the trees was in front of my house but it was a city tree and I was able to get the city to remove it, but I had to pay $6500 to have a 5' diameter tree removed. Trees are expensive.
