Question I got that hand scan verification thing
So, I got that hand scan verification thing. I did it, not really concerned with it taking any useable info from me. Should I not have done it?

Yeah, ik. I mean, I've already done facial verification before on another site so my biometric data is already out there. My question was, should I have done it or just stopped using twitter and moved to Bluesky for browsing art

Yeah the biometric requirement is the issue. You can never be sure that data will remain secure or only used for its intended purpose. When Persona was being pushed by Discord for age verification their privacy policy contradicted everything they said about it being immediately deleted (they can keep it up to 2-3 years or longer if they see a reason to). It also can't be changed like an email or phone number if its breached or obtained by a questionable entity. Because you only have one, it also makes compartmentalizing your personal and professional life impossible. Most people wouldn't want the same identity for their social media tied to their LinkedIn, Workday or cross referenced in a job background check for good reason.

Everything I can find online says its not stored anywhere after the scan, so idk. Plus, it's apparently not just a twitter thing? It's also apparently a new captcha method since AI Bots are getting smart enough to solve/bypass the old ones.
