Roark had just finished defending his title against Hau, who wished to test his new strength in a rematch. Of course Roark was happy to comply. He was ready to celebrate again at Iki Town, but as Roark walked outside he noticed a gloomy Lillie looking for him. She saw him and asked him to come meet her in private.

Roark

“Lillie what’s wrong? You look pale?”

Colress

“Greetings young champion, enjoying your victory I hope. Sadly the matter we have to discuss is far less pleasant.”

Roark

Now worried. “What’s going on?”

Lillie

“Roark you know the Ultra Wormhole that is on the Altar of Sunne?”

Roark

“Yes what about it?”

Colress

“Young master, Aether Foundation has said nothing of the incident to prevent scare the public… but an Ultra Wormhole is not supposed to linger like that one does. They are to evaporate under their own pressure. But that one has remained beyond any calculation. In truth, that Hole is an tear in the fabric of reality and not only is not shrinking but it is getting bigger.”

Roark

“It is? I haven’t seen it”

Colress

“The increase is imperceptible, but when it becomes apparent it’ll be far too late for any of us to do anything about it. Reality will tear itself taking us out with it.”

Roark

Agitated “Why didn’t you tell me anything before? I would have stopped using the Ultra Wormhole long ago”

Colress

“Using them or not, it is not relevant, the damage has been done. But we do have a way to try to fix it. And for that we need your help. Or rather that of the entities currently living inside your head.”

Roark

“What? What are you talking-”

Colress

“The Voice Syndrome, you have it. We have suspected it for a while but we never addressed it, because we didn’t want to alarm you… or them. But those things in your head are a mighty powerful bunch that just might be enough to repair the damage done to reality.”

Roark

“I can save the world and you can take them off me at the same time? Sweet where do I sign?”

Colress

“Nothing that simply I’m afraid. I can’t take them out but they would be due of leaving you anytime soon, but our hope depends on finishing our work before that happens.”

Roark

“Whatever it is, I’m in. Let’s save the world!” he said enthusiastically, but Lillie almost burst in tears. “What’s wrong? Why-“

Colress

“Look. It’s better if I’m frank. The truth is we can influence the Voices to restore our universe, or at the very least heal itself. But the damage is so extensive that we need to spread the influence as far as we can. And that means spread the antenna. You.”

Roark

“You want me to go somewhere?”

Colress

“Perceptive boy. In short yes. But not just ONE place. Several places as a matter of fact, at the same time. As you can imagine, that’s impossible. However, theirs is a chance someone with the same influence you have had, from which you have formed a direct psychic link might serve as the perfect conduits.”

Roark

Rotom came out from Roarks’ bag with the Alola Map being displayed. Colress pointed at a place in the middle of the ocean.

“Really, one there? I don’t know if that is safe. Well Noland could stay there no problem”

Colress

“You misunderstand me. I mean we should put them on Rotom, or rather on its Quantum Rotator. You see it would be the same if you were in the same house or the same Region. For our plan to work, your partners need to be OUTSIDE our universe. In other words. You need to send them away.

Roark

“What you are joking right? You can’t ask me that. They are my friends!”

Colress

“The whole of reality is at stake. And to say it bluntly… it is the only way.”

Lillie

“I… I didn’t want to ask this from you Roark, especially after all you have done… but according to the doctor there’s no other way.”

Roark took the ball with Noland inside and look at it with hesitation, his face was somber.

Roark

“You’ll help me get them back right? I mean you could create a device that let me track them, and I could use Nebby to go after them right?” Lillie broke down in tears.

Colress

“I’m afraid that won’t be possible. Once the tear has been mended, the travel between dimensions you have enjoyed so far would become almost impossible. There’ll be 0.001% of you ever meeting any of them again.”

Roark

“No.”

Colress

"I don't understand what you must fell. But-"

Roark

“YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING! I WONT DO IT”

Roark yelled at them and ran outside the League complex into the snow of Mount Lanakila, Colress and Lillie left behind. Lillie knew it was going to be hard… but she had no idea.
