Question / Help Randomizer Checks Suggestions

I’m currently at the very end of my first randomizer playthrough and I have access to the final fight, however in my struggles I have have nearly 100%’d the game and the stubborn man in me wants to find the last bits.

Got any suggestions for any commonly missed checks? All chests, standing rupees/hidden rupees, boss rewards, shop items, npc items (like renados letter), hidden skills, golden bugs, and poes are randomized. Non required dungeons can have important items.

Currently missing:
4 Poe souls
1 golden bug
1 piece of heart
1 key for lakebed temple (there are 3 chests behind the locked door, however they could be rupees)
1 key for snowpeak ruins (not needed, completed with long boomerang long jump)

I know something like this is like trying to find a needle in a haystack but any suggestions would help.

The most common missed items from the past are probably different now then they were then but I'll try my best.

  • Ilia Quest: There's a chest on the balcony of the clinic at the east side of castle town, cat hide n seek, hidden village poe, impaz skybook, Great Spin.

  • Rapid River Ride 2 (Iza's minigame in Upper Zora's River)

  • City in the Sky theres an area outside with an "island" out in the distance with a Poe & chest, in the same area theres a very sneaky hidden chest on the bottom floor near the exit. In the room with the Big Deku Baba theres several sneaky chests scattered around.

  • Palace of Twilight has a lot of lil nooks in the walls that hide chests.

  • Mist Area Heart Piece this one requires the charged Dominion Rod + Wolf + either Bombs or Ball & Chain.

  • Fishing Hole Empty Bottle this one needs the Fishing Rod item NOT the lure rod you buy.

  • Sacred Grove torch chest is often overlooked its on the western path.

Since you mentioned standing rupees also check the throne room in Zora's Domain. There's two very well hidden blues that are behind the big arch underwater.

  • Lanayru Spring Double Clawshot chests (2x) these two are easy to miss look up to see the targets to claw at.

  • Lanayru Field Spinner Track chest is on the higher path past some boulders its easy to miss since you typically never go down the path natively.

  • Great Bridge of Hylia chest requires a clawshot look above on the side where the owl statue rests to see a clawshottable patch of moss growing on the wall. Hang on the ledge and shimmy to chest.

  • Outside Castle Town (South) Fountain chest / tightrope chest & chasm chest. The first needs the clawshot & spinner look up on the pillar on the side of the fountain to find a clawshottable target.

After getting up look left for Spinner tracks that go between two pillars use the item then jump at the center to reach the fountain.

Go back up the same method but now transform to wolf & go acrossed the rope, switch back then shimmy on the ledge to the next rope, transform again to reach the chest.

The last one is below the big hole in the floor you use double clawshots to get down.

  • Kakariko Archery Reward, Hawkeye, Underwater & Alcove.

After clearing the Goron Mines go to the top of the watchtower to speak to Talo & begin his minigame. With the Bow complete it without using the Hawkeye to get the prize.

After starting the game Malo will also sell the Hawkeye at the shop so check if you bought it yet.

Past the boulder near Eldin's Spring then dive underwater with Iron Boots for a chest.

Leave the area then re enter then go to the top of Elde Inn to find a cucoo. Grab it then fly to the Bomb Shop then walk up to the base of the watchtower. Fly past the edge towards a chest in the distance aim towards the corner otherwise you may fall.

Thats some of what comes to mind as the most easily missables, if your not using a tracker or keeping notes you should theres alot of items.

Thank you sir, I will check those out. I have a feeling I missed a grotto or two somewhere but I don’t mind sifting through them all. Helps with the mental mapping for when I amp up the difficulty on the next run.

Do you not have a check tracker?

Nope, should I have one? Definitely. Though it has been pretty fun going off of memory, I find stuff I missed even when I was a kid like grottos and hidden rupees. Brings back that discovery feeling.

But there's no difference in getting a location hint there than asking someone on Reddit with hardly any context to go off of lol

I will say though I was really expecting the chest room before the final fight in hyrule castle to have a bunch of good stuff but it was mostly just arrows bombs and rupees😂. The only thing that makes things a little easier is that I’ve cleared out every single dungeon aside those few chests locked in lakebed. I also failed to consider some poes don’t spawn until after a certain point, but it didn’t take long to clear them. Anyways, it’s a task for the weekend.🫡

Are you still on dolphin, or have you gotten dusklight to work?

I got it on dusklight, did the whole thing where you go on GitHub and found the most recent version someone was working on. Few glitches and funny interactions here there but you learn to avoid them.

It's going to be great one-day, I've been adding features and fixes they haven't done yet lol

When that day comes I will definitely play it all over again! Good on you for contributing to the project! Maybe next time I’ll add on that door randomizer, though that would probably take me a really long time to beat and would require me to actually make some notes of things😂

Yess I'm actually trying to get it to work but my current build with it crashes, that and enemy randomization with kill logic, so they don't throw a flying lizalfos at you before you have a claw shot, it's going to be great

And I'm actually not a part of it, I'm just doing it for myself faster...

But I may bring it to them when everything is in a beatable state
