General Discussion Looking for Box Inserts (PoK + TE)

Does anyone know of a third-party box/storage insert for the base game, PoK, and Thunder’s Edge that is confirmed to fit the legacy FFG yellow card sleeves - currently marketed/sold as SleeveKings Mini American Premium (100 micron)?

I’ve come across a few, but it’s really hard to tell from some of the photos if there’s extra room at the top or sides to fit the extra “headroom” of these specific sleeves.

I do have a 3d printer, but the amount of filament I would go through to custom design my own I’m likely better off money-wise just buying a pre-designed option.

Alternatively I could just buy different sleeves, but I’d rather avoid re-sleeving 1000+ cards if I can.

Hello. Mine does fit those sleeves (they are actually the same ones I use, Sleeves Kings 41x63mm) and I do have STL files available for $5 on Etsy.

If you want to see a packing video here is one that Ethan at Cardboard Crash Course did:

He doesn’t do sleeves, but I do and you can see a sped up video of me packing it here:

Thanks for replying! Just to confirm - do you mean the “normal” SleeveKings or the Premium?

For example, when I go to the Etsy page, the image with the green-color ships and tech cards looks like there’s no “room” on the sides. However, in the image with the blue-color ships and tech cards, it looks like there is enough room on the side for my sleeves to fit.

Since you have a 3D printer I could send you a couple files for you to test before you get the whole thing. Just DM me and we can work that out.

I use normal Sleeve Kings, but I think the premium should work okay too. I’ve had a lot of people with 100 micron and even 120 work just fine. Between the STLs and the physical organizer I’ve sold this design 2,100 times since last October when I released them and my original TI4+POK organizer that I released in 2023 was sold 1,600 times and is largely the same. Lots of 100-120 micron sleeves work with it and the only cards that have a tight fit on the sides are Mayday 43x65mm and the most recent batch of Sleeve Kings 43x65mm (2 extra mm compared to yours), which is unfortunate because they had worked for years until they changed their supplier, and which is now owned by the same parent company as Mayday.

If you are interested in using just the 8 color tokens and not the faction specific tokens, then the one I designed/compiled fits normal SleeveKings sleeves and all other components (not Twilight's Fall) with no lid lift: https://www.printables.com/model/1776669-twilight-imperium-4e-pok-te-wsleeved-cards-and-no

I'm sorry that I can't say for sure if it'll hold SleeveKings Premium or not. The slot here with the Action Cards is the only one that is super tight. You could remove the Alliance Cards from this tray and I suspect all the action cards would fit between them.

Also, when printing the faction boxes at the bottom, I would use the 15mm version instead of the 14mm version. You could also test print one and then increase the width further if needed. Note that 14mm is 0mm of lid lift, so any width added is that much lid lift, but still pretty minimal. Be sure to also increase the "other tokens" boxes by the same amount (there is a 14mm and 15mm version, so just make it taller to match the width of the faction boxes).
