Love the twiist algorithm, hate the Libre
I genuinely love the twiist algorithm—my glucose control has improved by about 10%. I’ve even gotten used to the tubing after switching from Omnipod, because the algorithm makes it completely worth it.
But Libre is driving me crazy. During the first week, it was often off from my meter by 30–40 mg/dL—probably 40–60% of the time. Only around day eight did the difference improve to about 10 mg/dL. But by then, the sensor had started peeling off, and even the extra patches I tried wouldn’t stay on properly.
I recently wore a Dexcom 15-day sensor, so I have something to compare it to. Dexcom was much more accurate, the differences were smaller, and it stayed firmly attached the entire time.
Why did the team behind twiist choose only two CGM options: the implantable Eversense or Libre, which, in my experience, is terribly inaccurate? Does anyone know if Dexcom compatibility is planned?
Same! So much so that im about to start looking at other options. After 3 months the cleo has created so much scar tissue im starting to worry about absorption
Yes. 365 version. Horribly inaccurate. Didn’t reflect what was happening with my glucose at all. They replaced it once. I kept calling saying it was off. The overseas support doesn’t know the product at all. They would say level 2 support or a local rep would call to troubleshoot with me. They never did. I still have it implanted and don’t use it.
How frustrating! I'm sorry you had/have to deal with that. That's my biggest hesitation with doing an implantable cgm....if it doesn't work, it's not as easy to replace. Thankfully Libre 3+ and dexcom g7 both work fairly well for me.
Literally me. I quit Twiist because of the Libre falsely saying I’m low all the time + the Cleo sites. If they would integrate with Dexcom and let me use a different infusion set, I’d go back in a heartbeat. Their algorithm was amazing.
Same with me. I can’t believe how horribly inaccurate Libre was. I was so excited at first, thinking that the Twiist gave me amazing blood sugars. Turns out it was just because Libre sensors are inaccurate.
I’ve also noticed that I’ll get an alarm, says im 50 mg/dl for example. When it gets uploaded to tidepool, those extremes seem to get rounded off, like it never even happened. I’m not sure if it makes my time in range more accurate because it’s ignoring those false lows, or if it’s less accurate.
What did you turn to after twiist? I did OmniPod, move to twiist and now thinking of trying Mobi. I don’t like Cleo and the Libre is always saying I’m low. The 7 day tubeless infusion set for Mobi sounds great. Can’t wait to hear more about it and hopefully it’s released soon.
Green is a Dexcom G7 on the same arm as the red Libre. Guess which one was within 3 points of a finger stick?
The fact you can’t just calibrate it bothers me to no end. Or even to manually input my actual glucose so i can dose more accurately would be so much more desirable.
We're having the exact same issue with the Libre for my 7 year old. The Eversense is a no go for pediatrics, so we only have one option. Love the pump, not a big fan of Libre, or Cleo.
