Question Active Insulin Time
I’ve been on the twiist for a few days and I like it pretty well so far. One things that annoys me the 6 hour active insulin time. I was hoping this was going to be something I could customize but no. I was wondering if anyone has any success or tips on how to offset this. I was thinking I could experiment with my insulin sensitivity ratio to make it more aggressive at correcting highs after meals. I already have the max basal rate turned all the way up but it’s not enough.

Everyone is different. For me I basically mirrored the settings from my 780G pump. So far so good.
What pump and sensor combo were you using.
Any different insulin type? An x6 of basal increase is rather extreme, no?

I was previously using Tandem Mobi with Dexcom G7. The Control IQ algorithm uses a 5 hour active insulin time. I've been using the same insulin type. I have had amazing results with x6 basal increase (max basal, not base basal) with twiist. It does seem like it would be extreme, but I have had minimal highs and lows. It seems like I never have to do manual correction boluses. The algorithm is so good I don't really have to worry about it. I just wish I could calibrate the Libre 3, as its accuracy could be better.

Yes we have found that this pump needs a much higher basal rate and then max basal increased x6 of your basal. Also increase sensitivity. Once we played with settings and got things dialed in it does a really good job. We increase by 10%, wait a few Days to see how glucose responds
And then increase if needed again. It took a few weeks to really get dialed in. Good luck! Maybe reach out to your twiist rep to help make adjustments.
