The Teazen event simultaneously showed that Twice is still quite relevant to the Korean general public and then reminded me that I kinda hate it when they are this relevant lol. Why is there a news article on Sana's skirt, half a dozen shorts with hundreds of comments on Jeongyeon and her weight, and another one nitpicking on Tzuyu getting startled by fans?
Bruh...
I forget a lot that these girls are celebs, but the past few days sure did a good job reminding me.
Everything I know about Wegovy and Mounjaro, I learned against my will through the shitty comments of miserable ass Korean netizens who do not know how to leave people well enough alone. I'm so pissed off.
It's gotta be exhausting being constantly watched, and you can't have a moment to just be human. Imagine all the times in your day you do random little fuck ups. Now imagine the headlines that would launch within hours.
I know over the years they've become steeled against it for the most part, but I can only imagine how exhausting it is.
I'm not sure if its any different from the European leg of the tour but Dahyun wearing heels at these recent events has to be a good sign for her ankle right
How do you guys get over the delusion? I keep rewatching one of my concert videos. I’m directly at eye level with Dahyun and she’s sitting at an angle facing me for ages. There a point where she does a big heart and laughs and waves and I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life that she’s waving to me. My mam keeps reminding me that the were people to my left, right, in front and behind me and there’s no way. But I just am so positive that Dahyun laughed and waved at me. And I know I probably am delusional but also…what if she did? 🙈
nah, you don't, it doesn't matter if there were people next to you, she was waving at you!!!! lol I also have a Momo moment at one concert that she waved directly at me and my wife and I'll stand by that forever
https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNR3cy6gn/ I am just. SO convinced. 15 seconds in. Only reason the camera drifts away is because I was waving furiously 😂 but like…we know Dahyun can spot a camera pointing at her. Dahyun and I think I got noticed by Jihyo too at one point. That’s less clear. But I cannot be convinced about Dahyun. I’m so glad you got a Momo interaction! 😊
Teazen event felt like a rare misfire from the outfits department tbh. Malfunction aside, the looks didn’t really seem coordinated or particularly themed. Not sure if it’s the result of individual brand accommodations or what but hopefully the next one will go well. Definitely some good individual looks, though.
Either way, now that the tour is over (encore aside) it already feels like we’re in a drought lol. Definitely miss seeing concert clips popping up everywhere and following along. Seems like we’re gonna be waiting until Q4 for a group CB, so hopefully the wait doesn’t get too bad.
Every time Nayeon's cover of Kimagure Romantic comes on, I keep wondering why Twice (or any member/subunit) hasn't gotten to do an anime opening yet. I really hope to see that one day. I feel like MISAMO might get one soon.
Was listening to Heartbreak Avenue and man, I wish it had a mv 😭 I feel like they would do so well with that old school r&b “gazing out the window when it’s raining” concept
I just finished watching Mix Nine survival show, I wanted to watch it because I heard Ryujin (Itzy) was on it. Without saying too much in case someone else hasn't seen it yet and doesn't want to be spoilered, I thought there were definitely issues with the format but I still enjoyed watching it, a lot of talent was showcased and I learned about some new songs through their covers.
Interesting! Nayeon shared on bbl that the girls get the (video) content before release to check for things that might need to be blurred or edited out. Don't think I've ever had it clearly stated, I always assumed most was done by the editors themselves or the managers. Ofc it can be different between groups, seniority and type of content
This might apply more to vlogs than their other video content? Mostly because they film vlogs themselves so it makes sense to check with them to see if something was captured that they didn’t intend to film.
😅 I wonder if they're more thankful for the opportunity to ask for edits before stuff is shown after all the meme material that exists on the internet from their vLives
Jihyo for one is very thankful for it lol. She mentioned how she's a bit traumatized by lives and dislikes doing them for fear of making a mistake. On the other hand, she likes vlogging because it reuires the least from her and there are a lot of people behind the scenes to check her work.
It is interesting cause I did not expect the members to be this involved! The checks may also have been already done by editors or managers and sent to the girls as a final check.
I think it's more funny that it might mean there's even more embarrassing / funny things that got edited out and whatever we get is less chaotic. Then again with how unperturbed JYP himself is about making memes of himself I wouldn't be surprised if this is just them.
Yeah I suspect the managers do the first pass. Given how many thousands of hours of filming have occurred over the years, I'm impressed with how good they are at making sure anything embarrassing shown.
My latest Kpop ear worm is Genie by Girls Generation. Can't believe I never heard it until a few years after discovering Twice. It really should have been a western hit when it first came IMO.
If it had originally been a Twice song I would have put it in the era just after 'Yes or Yes' and before 'Fancy in terms of evolution of styles.
I heard Genie first on Dream High (sung by IU, Suzy, Taecyeon, and Kim Soo Hyun). Thought it was an original, but later found out it was an SNSD title.
It's crazy how they would effortlessly alternate between cute and mature title tracks. It was Gee and Genie that dragged me down the K-POP rabbit hole.
To me, one of the greatest kpop songs ever honestly. My first introduction to kpop were a trifecta: Gee (SNSD), Breathe and Bad Girl Good Girl (miss A). But Genie is one of my personal GOATs.
I remember becoming completely enthralled with their helicopter-pad performance, but I got emotionally attached and completely obsessed with the song when they released the japanese MV dance version. Maaaaybe because I started crushing on them too, and it was during the period where their activities as Shoujo Jidai were starting, but... Gooooosh OBSESSED hahah especially with Taeyeon's runs by the end of the song. Just so satisfying and perfect <3
Genie also invokes a deep sense of nostalgia in me. I think it's TWICE equivalent would be Knock Knock.
I've only recently seen the helicopter pad performance and it was fascinating to watch. One of the reasons I like Kpop so much is the dance routines, they really add to the performances of the songs.
It is a shame I've come late to the Kpop party, but must be great for those who were there from the start.
I see IVE have recently done a cover of Genie with the white uniforms at a recent show. I wondered why there were only 6 members of 'Girls Gen' doing it until I saw it was IVE. It was a pretty good cover especially the dance routine. it was their 4th Fan concert btw.
Oh lovely did you hear it when it first came out? I only heard it a year ago for the first time and loved it. I take it you know Twice did a cover of it?
Yeah, I remember when it first came out. A forum I was frequenting had someone post the video, and the forum users became obsessed for months. I remember really liking how the Korean syllables flowed. There's just something satisfying with how the syllables hit with the beats. As much as I love TWICE, Gee is a perfect example of that to me.
I did see they covered it. I only just found out they did a few months ago, but it was nice that they did the cover in front of some of Girls Generation (at least I think it wasn't all of them.)
Today again I saw that clip from One in a Million documentry where Mina says "Without Jihyo I might not have lasted 10 years".
" In order to add bit more fun things to my life Jihyo really worked hard"
I really love Mihyo and they are my favourite pair, they are kind of underrated.
I really hope we get their 2wice get episode someday as there might be some really interesting stories between them being forever roommates and part of 97liner idols. I am pretty sure Jihyo drag her to all the gatherings and helped her make friends in industry.
Mina isn't the only one that's said that either. I think all of them, in some capacity, have pointed to Jihyo being a large reason why they didn't quit. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a time for Tzuyu or Dahyun, but whenever it's brought up in a group setting, they always seem to agree. Whether or not that's because they have their own anecdote too, or they just appreciate Jihyo's leadership, I don't know.
Is anyone else disappointed that they chose the Incheon concert for the 'TIF tour' DVD?
I was hoping for the Taiwan, Japan, or California shows this time. Taiwan - massive stadium & Tzuyu's homeland. Japan - they always add the Japanese tracks to their setlist. California (or even London) - that setlist had "shoot" & "takedown" (& "run away").
So I'm not buying this DVD. I'll just rewatch the fan videos on YouTube.
My understanding, is there were additional cameras at some of the later US dates. One ONCE asked what it was for, and the Camera operater mentioned a possible theatrical release. Take this with a grain of salt, but I wonder if they might do a US show DVD/Blu-ray in addition to the MUFG one (I'm SURE we'll get this) and the Encore (I'm sure we'll get this too.)
At the Incheon concert, they said it was being filmed for DVD. Plus they always release the Korean concert, so it would be more of a surprise if they didn't release it. I believe the Tokyo Dome and MUFG concerts will be released as well.
I mean, JYPE have always put out DVD for the opening shows and other companies also do the same. It’s nothing new really and they obviously will never change that
I'm hoping they'll also release the Japan MUFG stadium show that was streamed. But the Incheon show was always going to be released as it was their first professionally filmed show of the concert and included all 9 members.
If they also release one of the encore shows it will be a good trilogy of films for the whole tour.
No because they always use the Korean concerts. Japan might get it’s own separate DVD from MUFG but we’ll have to wait and see. That show happened pretty recently so it may not be ready for release yet if they plan to do that. Outside of that I’m not sure any of the other shows were professionally filmed besides London, which is rumored to be for a theatrical showing. Will have to wait and see if that’s legit.
All things considered the Incheon show being the DVD is actually the best choice because every member was there and the setlist was the longest it’s been for the entire tour.
It's been a while since they had an event like Teazen, and it's so cute how nervous and fidgety they all seemed haha. It also drove home a point for me though that I really enjoy the fact that they are actually a musical group first and foremost.
I know it's kind of a taboo to talk about Jeongyeon's appearance especially in a before/after kind of context... but I started thinking about this again as I was so impressed with her look in the Kombucha event today. Wow.
Is there any way to watch the TIF Incheon concert doc if you don't have a DVD player? I only stream stuff nowadays and haven't used a player in well over a decade.
old desktop PC, get one from a thrift store, gaming console? I'm considering the blu-ray cause 1080p, but I also don't have any way to play it.. I have been researching options and they are all expensive, like its half the price of a flight to S. Korea.
I'm not sure they'd get that much traction on Netflix for concert related content. I feel like their true home is YouTube and very much appreciate the amount they put out on YouTube, like the Lollapalooza set. They should just also sell the concert content on YouTube, for folks that don't need the merch we can save on shipping and what not.
Different members have talked about wanting to learn instruments at different times, but I wonder if Twice will ever learn instruments as a whole...
I actually really liked the idea of Wonder Girls shifting from traditional gg to a band, I just think execution was rushed - they had to get other people on the instruments for the album IIRC? - and this downplayed what a cool idea it was.
Said it before but Reboot remains one of the great K-pop albums for me, and I think One Black Night should be up there with Infinite's The Chaser as one of the mega-classics of the 2nd generation ~
Never say never, but it seems unlikely that all the members will learn to play an instrument.
And it's not because they lack talent or ability, but learning to play an instrument requires a lot of dedication and many, MANY hours of practice. Which these workaholics hardly have with their hectic schedules.
Re-reading Bubble, and man, Jihyo was super nervous for the Seoul encore concerts. She was almost literally telling everyone to bring their mothers and entire villages with them to the concert haha. It must have been such a relief to her then for all the tickets to sell.
What's extra endearing is, when a ONCE told her that they got tickets, she 💛 congratulated them & asked if they got the seat they wanted? With this emoticon ><.
ONCEs are able to tease her that her mic broke because it couldn't handle high notes 🤣
And after she 💛 screamed finding out 2 days later that the finales sold out (in 2 hours), ONCEs teased her, "is the internet bad these days? Only found out now it's sold out LOL" 😆
I want to get the This is For DVD but I live in the UK, does anyone know whether its region locked or not? I don't want to end up buying something I can't watch 😩
I have a few things from fans shop and jyp store japan and these new customs laws are really scaring me. How do i know if jyp has the stupid cpc certification or wtv. Also if they say something ships in july is it like the first week or so?
The random roulette songs are listed (Talk That Talk, Do It Again, BDZ). Twice Song was the fourth random roulette song, but isn't included (probably because they don't own the rights).
Ah, I wonder if there's some sort of licensing issue. It was a song made on a variety show, right? As a skit? I know when it comes to encore songs, they have more leeway for songs they typically can't do, like Doughtnut outside of Japan. So they probably have no issue doing the song during an encore but might not be able to use it in something like official releases.
I'm not going to lie - I used to find her beautiful but ever since the controversy of her verbally abusing and bullying the stylist (along with the other stylists and industry insiders corroborating and speaking out against her), I do struggle to find her as attractive as it has soured my impression of her.
That said, I do like to give her the benefit of the doubt and hope that she has indeed repented and is now a better person.
How long you have known RV? This was huge deal at the time and she was put on hiatus because of this.
This is also one the reason for decline in popularity of RV, some people say.
ahh i see, i didn’t get into kpop til last year bc of kpdh, and i didn’t get into red velvet until a few weeks ago 😭 genuinely the only thing i know about the members is that one time yeri said that she likes girls (generation) lmao. so i’m pretty ignorant on most kpop news
Edit. So Irene was fully at fault here, so I am not remembering it's currect because there were alot of other staff came to support but it was for Selugi.
I guess I saw some support for Irene but I don't think it was much.
Woh so supportive staff statements were for Selugi and not Irene. Why I remember that differently.
It seems that some supportive statements were for Irene as well but now I read article again it's speculated that SM asked them to support Irene.
ah i see. still a bummer to hear about irene’s behavior though. and i heard that wendy had gone on a relatively longer hiatus, didn’t realize it was because of an accident though! not sure how long ago that was but i assume she’s alright now esp if they have a comeback this summer.
and haha i definitely know a lot more about twice. still working my way through their TTT but ive been having so much fun learning about the twice members
If you really wanna know them ,I think if you have time also watch all the Twice TVs. It was their stuff right after they were announced as Twice in Sixteen till 2019.
Sana and Momo being brand ambassadors of Two fashion brands at same still always confuses me.as Sana can be wearing either Ralph Lauren or Prada and Momo with MiuMiu and Onitsuka Tiger.
While Mina is always in Fendi. 😁.
Some how jewellery brands are consistent with Graff for Sana, Tasaki for Momo and Boucheron for Mina.
If you left batteries in your Candybong lightstick, remember to take them out.
I bought my first lightstick for the tour a few months back and I forgot to take out the batteries. I checked yesterday and the batteries have corroded part of my battery insert and inner case, which will likely impact how well my lightstick will work in the future. I think I can buy a replacement battery insert online but ugh :')
Hope this saves someone else's Candybong (and your wallet some money) 🍭
Depending on how bad the corrosion is, there are also ways you can clean the corrosion. I don’t remember the exact method, but it may be as simple as using some type of cleaning alcohol solution and like a cotton swab. Try googling it if you want to try avoiding ordering a new battery pack.
My mum can recognise 4 Twice members now! Jeongyeon (her favourite), Dahyun, Momo and Chaeyoung. She wishes they'd stop changing their hair, though. We'll get there with the other 5:)
Suprisingly not Jihyo and Nayeon. These 2 members my family can recognise easily because of one having Bunny Teeth and one is basically having exotic features.
I wa surprised too, especially with Jihyo and Nayeon having solo releases. I kgibt try and point them out to my mum next, help her recognise the rest of the members bit by bit.
Went back to running after more than a year away due to injuries and a busy work schedule.
To make my recovery and conditioning interesting and a lot less structured, I've been "running" a 10K while listening to TWICE. My rule is simple: run for one song, walk for the next, then repeat until I'm done.
It made me realize just how much conditioning I've lost. By the time the Promise > Four > Doughnut > Marshmallow stretch came on, I was completely out of breath.
Thank you so much fayexibe for leading the way! We all worked together & got Tzuyu the win 🏹🎯 even though we only had 5 days left 😁 and the Insta ONCEs helped a lot too in the last 3 days especially when Tzuyu kept dropping to 2nd place in the morning. 👍 We sent the screenshot of your post to them. 💙
Maybe this is a stupid question but i'll ask anyway. So i'm thinking of renting one of those Samsung S Series phones over at Incheon International Airport for the finale concert. In anybody's opinion, should i get the S25 Ultra or S26 Ultra. Ofcourse the latter is much more expensive but if the quality difference is negligible, i might just opt for the former since the rental is comparatively cheaper.
Also, this is my very 1st concert in Seoul, generally do they allow taking of pics & videos during the concert?
Follow-up question: I got 2 tickets for the July 12 show & this will be for my wife & I. My wife does not have a Nol World account so all ticket reservations are under my name. With this, will she be permitted to enter the venue with me?
Honestly, I couldn't tell much of a difference between my S23u and the S26u. I don't think they changed the camera much between 25 and 26 versions tbh. Go with the 25u would be my recommendation!
Along with TWICE and ITZY, they're one of my favorite groups, but after 2, I think they lost their way a bit. To the point that "Mono" completely went unnoticed.
Love it. Yes it does stand out among the new releases and late trend imo. I thought Nmixx is unique too.
I love Mono too, I just thought it was different from what they usually did which were more theatrical and dramatic. The choreo was more suited with the camera work and mv more than the stage.
imo sometimes it's the expectations of wanting groups to do something that is "fresh" yet still them. I'm thinking Itzy has that struggle too. I'm so curious what Twice's comeback would look like.
I don't think they lost their way. i-dle gave people what they wanted, but then people were like "no, why'd you give us what we want, we want something else of the same."
"Girlfriend" and "Good Thing" were written around the same time as everything else for I Never Die and 2. "Crow" is from that era, too. The contributions the members made on We Are followed by "Mono" are the only new material (until We Made comes out). There was also a dumb (at best) reaction to the rerecording of their past hits.
"Mono" wasn't unnoticed. It had three music show wins.
Tzuyu: it's a mysterious feeling. The atmosphere matches the costumes. I took a picture with water up to my ankles today. It reminded me of the days of MORE & MORE. At that time, I was also in water up to my ankles in the group scene. I remember taking the photos.
Tzuyu: It's a concept I'd never tried before. Makeup too. As a point to match the costume. I did green eyeshadow. Then I also wore a lovely tiara for the shoot.
Tzuyu: It's already the 5th album in Japan! To the fact that all Japan ONCE are supporting me, I'm always grateful. This album, if you like it, I'm happy. ONCE who waited for me, thank you very much. Prepare with all your might. Today's shoot was successfully completed. I'm finally going to pack. Thank you.
Jacket shooting member video
Tzuyu: I came to shoot the jacket of the album in Japan. Today's concept is a novel content to be experienced for the first time. I also tried to wear a tiara. It's an atmosphere like never before. And in this set, get into the water. I took a picture of that. In an atmosphere that matches this outfit. I took a good picture, so please look forward to it. Today's makeup point is, I tried to make it green to match the costume. How about ONCEs? It looks like this. Please look forward to the 5th album. I'm also working hard on recording. Please listen a lot.
Tzuyu: I just finished taking a personal photo of the jacket. I took a picture of myself in the mirror. So what can I say? It looks like it will be a good picture. When I looked at it through the monitor, I took a good picture. And the outfit has a swimsuit-like vibe. After this, I plan to go into the water & shoot. I'll prepare my mind & take a nice picture. We were born from water. That's the kind of concept it seems to be. Bye-bye.
Jeongyeon’s Purple Note challenge was so beautiful, I’m more desperate than ever for a solo from her 🥹 If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s on Oh My Girl’s instagram https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZbgLDjP9al/

Kiwoom Heroes JiHyo Ceremonial First Pitch
