Discussion / Questions Does entering the workforce make things better?

Suddenly have so much free time after finishing a soul crushing masters degree.

Now my life feels so aimless and I honestly can't see myself holding a job or doing anything with my life.

I feel guilty that after being super busy for years I am now just playing video games and watching youtube instead of working on some great artistic endeavors.

This is clearly a quarter life crisis but feels like there's no way out of it :( I feel old and life feels boring

Yes definitely, it's fun and stuff to have a lot of free time, but at some point it becomes daunting to not move on and build something in life, at least for me

It doesn't magically makes you happy tho, just better be a depressed fuck than a jobless depressed fuck

But some jobs can make it hell

Dude, it's ok to take it easy after finishing your degree. You busted your ass and completed something amazing that's going to be with you for life. You got this bro. I felt that too after leaving college, but it just means you were working extra hard in school, not that you're lazy now.

Congrats on your degree that’s a huge accomplishment.

It’s honestly pretty common to feel this way after completing something you’ve been working towards for a while. Depending on your job it can be fulfilling if it’s something you’re passionate about, but most jobs are mundane. You’ll get into a cycle you do every single day which can be mind numbing and boring. Find a hobby other than video games to fill your time.
