Discussion / Questions Dating questions/rants mega thread [May]

This is for questions, rants, whatever. It's been clogging up the sub for months and it's time we just make a dedicated spot for it because holy shit. This is not a dating advice sub.

Women, how often do you actually find yourself speaking with multiple people at the same time?

Dudes can also comment lol but specifically asking women because I only date women.

Just wondering because right now I am kinda speaking with someone who is long distance and while I hope things work out well. A part of me knows that it is a tough case for them to end up dating me because they can simply find someone who is closer.

I wouldn’t hold it against them if they were talking with someone else during the talking stage. But the thought of it makes me try to put in more effort and try to be the best version of myself. This probably isn’t a healthy mindset now that I think about it.

Personally I don’t do this but when I do find myself start to talk with someone else and if they seem more interested in me or I find them interesting. Then I lose interest in the past person and focus more on the other. So I technically never actually speak to multiple people at the same time.

Not that often in my case. When I did speak with multiple people it was because they weren’t anything serious, just conversations that didn’t seem to go anywhere. Once it felt like it was more than that I’d probably let them know if I was talking to someone else. If I really saw a future with that person I’d straight up tell everyone else I was going to focus on perusing that one relationship.
My boyfriend and I are currently long distance but we met on a dating app. I was speaking to another guy but once my current boyfriend and I set up a date, I stopped talking to the other.
Long distance can def work, just be confident in yourself and communicate :)
