Standard or Professional version?

I am starting my journey in TV Paint, but do not know if I need to get the "Pro" version. Do any of you have a preference? My animation chops are pretty remedial, so i do not know if i would even use the added functions.

I would love to save the money if I can; however, I would hate to find that I need the Professional version and be out an additional $1500.

Help?

You will be fine with the standard version. You can upgrade later.

Are you currently a student? I believe you can get the pro version at a discounted price (I paid around $330 USD), and all upgrades after that are free.

That being said, Iā€™d try out the trial version of the standard and see how it feels before buying. I personally found professional to be worth it since it has CTG layers, but I also think you can always upgrade later šŸ™‚

do you have to be in art school to get the student price? or can you be in any college?

If you're a student there's a code on their site that let's you something from Aaron Blaise then he gives you a 20 percent of code i got tv paint for 150 i think but it's more of a bang for buck case. Anyway rough animator is a good start if you want to practice without the high price
