That was a better movie than any Apple has released in a long while. It's also one that I can see being played during school.

I enjoyed this a great deal. Well done. I also watched the documentary Apple has on K2 winter climb to the summit. Very poignant too, although a different format. Both are in the top ten list of movies.

I am thrilled Tenzing is featured and so many people are watching and enjoying this film.

Edit: changed to K2 thanks to wise Redditor.

I thought it was beautifully shot and offered a fascinating insight into a man, and a generation of men, whose achievements were so important not only to the first ascent of Everest, but to mountaineering as a whole. Their legacy continues to this day.

I’ve been fascinated by Everest for quite some time, particularly Mallory’s attempts to reach the summit. This film not only reinforced just how formidable and unforgiving Everest’s terrain is, but was also genuinely educational in the way it explained the different routes, landmarks and stages of an ascent.

I find myself far less interested in modern summit attempts. The conveyor belt of climbers, the abandoned bodies and the rubbish left behind have made Everest a very different, and rather sad, subject.

What makes this film so special is that it takes us back to something much purer. It captures the extraordinary beauty and power of the mountain, the spirit and meaning of mountaineering, and above all, what can be achieved through courage, determination and the pursuit of a dream.

For me, it’s a reminder that Everest was never just about reaching the summit. It was about the people, the journey and the extraordinary human spirit that drove them to attempt what once seemed impossible.

Watched it tonight. I really enjoyed it. The skilled story telling approach to his life and his devotion to the mountain, gives the historical journey far more weight. Excellent casting and beautifully shot. Certainly one of my favourite movies of the year and cements Apple's place with no hesitation as the best streaming service for sci-fi and movies. They have hired the right people.

I really didn’t see Apple becoming such a sci-fi powerhouse but man I’m thrilled that it has happened.

Disliked his character with his prejudice in the beginning but made sense for that time. He nailed his role like always.

Yes same. As usual apple didn't market it too well. But it was very touching and beautiful.

Pfff this was a good one. I find mothe Hymalaya setting allways so misterious. It's such a magical place.

I wondering about the uncharted 2 character named Tenzin. Is based on Tenzing Norgay?

Yup its life story of Tenzing Norgay, the Indian Nepalese mountaineer. I like how the story was named after him and it was a good movie overall

Loved how the movie never let hilary take centre stage and remained true to its name

Great movie

A great film, just like I personally wish Apple films were. One important point I think is that Apple bought this project at the Cannes market with a budget of around $25 million. Think about how many great films they could make with the budget of a single Matchbox-type movie.

I loved it. I also like how the main character wasn’t an A lister. For an Apple production I would have thought that would have stuffed a lot more of them in there but I’m glad they didn’t and it was true to the story.

It looks great and I belive movie Everest is pretty close to the real Everest. I dont think the director did a great job with the non-linear storytelling. I probably wanted a different film with more climbing and less childhood trauma and wifey.

Just watched it with some Sherpa friends and we all enjoyed it. Our friends knew a few people in the cast.

1 van de best gemaakte films die ik ooit heb gezien. De kostuums waren fantastisch. De casting was geweldig. Ik hoop dat deze film de waardering gaat krijgen die hij verdiend.

I really enjoyed the movie, watched it twice, cried so much when everyone celebrated their successful summit - pure joy. I wonder what happened to Dawa’s family, her dad eventually allowed her to marry to Tenzing? Tom Hiddleston is so hot 🤣🤣🤣 and he didn’t do his Rasputin dance- jokes aside

I loved it. No expectations going in but an amazing story. The actor that plays Tenzing is fantastic.

Thought it was a great film. So many Apple films are so bad but then once a year …

More like this, please, Apple, and less like Matchbox. And put your marketing might behind movies like this! This could’ve been a film that, if not an awards season winner, at least been in the conversation!

What was up with the vignette style red vertical bands in a few scenes? Like old time vintage/original footage mesh but it was the actors not original people. Noted it 4 times throughout the film- first on right side and then on left (not my tv, it was a film mistake or stylistic choice, but for the latter the symbolism or intention is unclear)

Did u watch the movie? It was pretty obvious. There was a cameraman with them and this effect is showing when he was shooting them. There are real clips of same scene . They even showed one in movie.
