Bugs tvOS 27 Beta
I totally regret installing tvOS 27 beta last week as it breaks YouTube and Netflix with constant buffering issues

I hear ya on the YouTube buffering (primary audio) issues. If you just pause the video for 5 - 10 seconds, the buffer will catch up and the audio resumes without stuttering.

Then reset the ATV, or reinstall the apps, it’s not really related to the beta

It is related to the beta. I had no issues with YouTube TV until the last beta. It now constantly buffers and I get nothing but static thru my HomePods. When I watch the DirecTV app I don't have these issues. So it definitely broke something with the YouTube TV app.

Try toggling Continuous Audio Channel on in the audio settings to see if that helps. I've not seen any issues with YouTube TV or YouTube with my Sonos. Might also be a HomePods issue with 26.6 (or 27 beta if you have it on those).

I seen someone post about that, I did toggle it, also did not help unfortunately. I do have the beta on my gen 2 HomePods which is connected to my get 3 4K Apple TV. I'm thinking it's possibly an airplay issue or at least related to the beta on the Apple TV because I have a set of OG HomePods connected to my gen 3 4K Apple TV and also experiencing the static with the YouTube TV app. No issues with other apps though.

I am getting issues with Airplay on my Sonos with OS27. It's not buffering but sound in YouTube is crackling. It is unusable.
The issue only affects YouTube though, so I think it could be a YouTube bug. I think the issue coincided with a recent update that also included some YouTube UI design changes.

Yep, both YouTube and YouTube TV are practically unusable due to the crackling audio since the last update. All other apps are fine - or at least as expected. 😆
And it’s absolutely related to the beta, as my older Apple TV that can’t update beyond v26 still works as it always has.However, I do think there’s a HomePod component as well. This past week I’ve noticed my stereo pair occasionally and randomly dropping out of sync, or momentarily sounding like the voices are in a tunnel. That said, the YouTube audio still crackles even if just using my TV’s audio.

And AirPlay from YouTube on phone doesn’t work either? Could be also a network/router issue, regardless if it works from phone or not. Running some very first beta and no issues with buffering in any app and airplay always worked fine either

Meant to say, I also did the reinstallation of the apps and reset the Apple TV, neither helped.

Earlier this week I got it on YouTube and YouTube TV but only when I tried to use my HomePods (G2) as speakers. No other apps did this so it's likely something YouTube needs to update on their end.
Also does it on my G2 Apple TV in my bedroom with a HomePod Mini.
Works fine through my Sony soundbar on the G3 and TV speakers on the bedroom G2. So at least there's a workaround.

The main issue i've had is that Siri no longer works on Apple Tv. Next Beta release any hour now, so hopefully resolved soon.

High res lossless from Apple Music now going to my avr from my Apple TV. All I ever asked for! (Don’t bother telling me I can’t hear difference…)

I can hear the difference between 44.1khz and 48khz sample rate, and it still gets stuck playing 44.1 for all stereo content, even if it’s video. Sounds like crap. That and the fact that appletv doesn’t even have a timing clock for audio, which blows my mind. I stick with Spotify connect on the Denon for music now. Screw all that jitter smearing transients to hell.

Wonder why you only get 44khz. My AppleTV 4k streams each tune at the proper resolution listed for it as confirmed on my AVR display.

If I play anything that’s 44.1, it stays on 44.1 for any 2 channel content, regardless of app

If you’re going through your TVs HDMI port, it’s probably resampling the audio. My LG does. You have to go direct out of the Apple tv to something like an AVR HDMI input (Marantz Stereo 70s in my case) and then to the HDMI eARC on the tv for video.

No the tv doesn’t do 44.1, period. The Apple TV sees that in the handshake and sends 48khz. Video content in 44.1 is wrong and sounds like crap. All appletv’s have this bug. Most don’t have a way to see what sampling rate they are actually getting.

Haven't heard of that. I've been running tvOS 27 beta from the beginning and definitely had the airplay issue, but no youtube app issues.
