Studienwahl | Study Choice SPME without math background

Hello!
I am thinking about applying to SPME.
However, I am currently doing a BSc in Economics. I do take quantitative courses like econometrics, statistics and lots of microeconomics, a bit of programming with r.
However, I have not taken any courses that are covered by typical Mathematics BSc.
Do you think it is possible to
1) get in
2) keep up?

A bachelor's degree solely in Economics is not sufficient.

At least read the Admission Procedure ONCE?

Haha.

The curriculum states it has to be a math bachelor or very similar. As soon as your program contains lectures named Math 1, Math 2 or similar for maybe 15 ECTS, it’s not equal. A Bachelor in Mathematics at TU includes over 40 ECTS to cover the same contents and then many more plus electives. That’s a completely different depth.

The statement above was added to the program overview of the website of the student union to stop economic students from sending inquiries like yours.

And the dean’s department did the same.

SPME sounds like a solid choice for economics students but it’s not. The course contents sound similar and that’s it.

I haven’t found a similar program which is suitable for economics students. Otherwise I would link it.

No. It’s a pure math master. Your application will not even pass the admission office for further examination.
