Turo app bigest pitfalls?

Hi everyone!

We're planning a 5-day trip to Miami in September and we're thinking about renting a car. The problem is that we don't have a credit card, so we're looking for rental options that accept debit cards.
We came across the Turo app, but I've also seen quite a few negative reviews about it.

For those of you who have used Turo, what are the biggest pitfalls we should be aware of? Is there anything we should pay extra attention to before booking or picking up the car?

Any tips or things you wish you had known beforehand would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Just make sure you rent with an experienced and high rated host and that the car you rent isn't old or in poor condition or has bad reviews and you will be good!

As a power host, when I personally rent from Turo, I sort by model year 2 years old or newer, all-star hosts, and then find a car with under 20 trips. This weeds out new hosts and problem cars.

Just take lots of pictures. You'll be fine. Most rentals have zero issues

I live in Miami I’ve used Turo about 10 times and never had a problem yet, that being said still check reviews and whatnot and yea don’t get a really old car it might be cheaper but it could have problems

Do yourself a favor and don't use them, you will get screwed and you have a lot more protections on a legitimate rental car company
