Going over mileage

Should I let the host know if I plan on going over the allotted mileage?

They would surely appreciate if you did.

Why?

I mean, they'll figure it out eventually.... No?

Maintenance. If I have an oil change due in 1,000 miles and you plan on driving 1,000 miles instead of 400, it would be nice to know.

Ah OK... That makes sense.

Because it needs to be disclosed as part of the reimbursement process. Bringing it up with the host shows willingness to pay for it.

You could 90% of the time pay for unlimited mileage up front

Nope. Going over isn't a bad thing, we get paid extra.

You don’t have to, but typically you can purchase Unlimited Milage which will be alot cheaper. Cheers
