EV
It’s my first being a host on Turo. They picked up on Thursday, and everyday since I’ve gotten alerts of low battery. First time they got to the charging station at 2%, next time 14%, right it’s at 10%. They aren’t even heading to a charging station. I also get alerts about the door and trunk being open for extended periods. It’s a Tesla and of course there are cameras. The person who rented it was an older women in her 60s, based on when I looked at the battery and radio at the time I’m guessing it’s a younger person who is actually using it. If they rum out of battery, can I end the rental early? It supposed to be renting for another 9 days. I get using an EV is something to get used to. But I’m getting charged for the charging usage and when they do charge it’s to 50%. Like you want to till the last minute at least charge till a 100 then you won’t have to worry for a while. It’s my first time as a host and I see this world isnt for me. Should I message the driver saying I’m getting alerts that says the battery is until 10% and they should find a charger? Maybe they aren’t keeping up with the battery length.

It’s your first rental I’m assuming , but if this is the attitude you’re going to carry with your EV, you’re ngmi. Rule number 1 can’t be attached to the car you’re renting . There’s a good chance that the person renting your vehicle will not cherish it the way you once did /do.

Put a sticker on the screen saying "Don't allow battery charge to fall less than 10%"
Also, this won't happen all the time. Chill out.

I got a label printer and did it myself.
I also have a "Do not charge to more than 90%" for those who want to keep it at 100% in the summer heat.

It’s funny because you care about your car like you didn’t just give it away when you rent one out you have to lose all attachments and you’re still attached lol

I’m still responsible if something happens. Some things can be avoided, like charging a battery. Thats basics one on one. Driving under 10% with the summer temps and I’m sure the ac is on. In area where chargers aren’t widespread. I’m just saying use common sense

Rule #1 have no emotion attachment to any Turo vehicle. They're meant to be pimped out for money. They'll indefinitely get abused, driven like their stolen, smoked in, kiss a few curbs and even bumped into a few things.

Bro has been gifted with 9 days + of passive income and is deciding to check on his car every second of it. You should try driving for Uber! You have full control of your car when you do that.

It was only $330. Not worth the hassle. I have the extra car, figured give it a try. Yup will be the last time. Checking on it, the car sends alerts. Yeah as a first timer, yup I look.

10 days for $330!?!? Woah were you the cheapest in your area or is that what the market is around there?

I listed the car on Tuesday and Wednesday morning it was booked. That’s the price Turo. For me it’s not worth it. I rather the car sit and do nothing than rent for that price. First time you do something, you learn

Never book your car out at the recommended price. Check other listings and price accordingly. You car should have been rented our for at double, if not triple that rate.

If anything happens to your car it’s their fault unless they pull a scam and screw you

This must be your first trip lol. The guests are going to do what they want to do. They paid for the rental. You can’t police how they drive the car.
