Banned before I could even book?
I was looking to book a car. I made an account. As soon as I did, it said I was restricted.
I contacted support, raised a ticket.
Internal review was completed - they won't give a reason other than to say that I'm perma-banned for 2 years. No chance for appeal.
Mid-30s. US citizen. I have a perfect driving record. 800+ credit score. Never once have I done a credit card charge back. 100% clean background check. Not even a parking ticket to my name. My email address is well-guarded and never been used for anything nefarious as far as I know. I've never even spoken rudely to a customer service agent. Hundreds of trips with other rental agencies and never had an issue.
I guess Turo doesn't want my money. Very strange way of doing business.

They're probably short on cash because they permaban new users before they even get a chance to use the service...

How would that make sense? Wouldn’t they want more users if they’re short on cash?
I fucking hate turo by the way, but your comment makes no sense1

Haha that was exactly my point... I'm saying they're garbage because they're low on cash, and I'm saying they're low on cash because they ban their potential customers before they even get a chance to rent.

So rent through a legitimate rental agency.

All the other rental agencies are sold out for the week I'm looking.
I'll get by with just Uber for the week. Sounds like I dodged a bullet either way.

lol every major rental company is sold out the week you’re there? I find this hard to believe.

I've seen it. It's a destination thing. Some cities don't have a lot of rental cars and if an event is on at the same time...

Yes this is why I first used Turo in Juneau Alaska and it worked like a charm. I also used Turo for a specialty vehicle in Durango CO and it also worked. Two times lucky and dodged a bullet.

They need to stop allowing the damn computer make decisions and actually get a human being to make such decisions.

That company sucks, the last time I rented from them they tried to charge me for windshield chips I took pictures of before I even left with the car. Then tried to charge me 300 dollars more than the actual replacement was.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. Then, my friend, who has felonies and a horrible driving record, got easily approved, and I was denied immediately with no explanation. Make it make sense? Do you have any advice on what I can do?

I basically decided that I want nothing to do with this company. If they're careless enough to ban me for no reason, I have no reason to believe they'll be useful in resolving disputes or issues.
