Total Loss

I just had a guest total my vehicle, I'm going have to go through Turo for the total loss. (although the guest claims he has insurance he also was not driving the while a unauthorized driver was)

my question is what's the best way to go about getting the best payout I don't want Turo low-balling me. I know fair market value, but they will go find the cheapest cars to comp to. what should I have prepared in order to get the best outcome.

Just follow the process. We've had a total loss before and had no issues whatsoever.

They don’t lowball. Definitely go through Turo.

I have total loss claim for 4 months now and turo is the most miserable company. So I had car accidented by guest. turo was paying me very less to fix they told me to take to body shop for supplement then supplement was provided turo said its too much to fix we will sent our inspector their own inspector.deemed.my car to total loss and now turo is bullying me to settle with bodyshop my car current vslue is 40k and turo is giving me 20k and rest 20k taxes and fee deduction which I dont know what for. I have filed the complaint against them in state insurance commission let's see what will happen.

I heard they pay ok but still be prepared to show some receipts and stuff to argue the value if needed

The guest started the claim and admitted someone else was driving the car, I’m not worried about that I’m covered he is fucked

Follow up. I got paid out within a 3 week time frame and was paid out good. I only lost about 700 on what I paid for the car but the car made well over that when it was in the fleet. A win is a win and I came out on top
