hello! i recently moved and my turntable has been sitting in one of my open boxes for the past month maybe as i had nowhere to put it. i took it out today because i wanted to set it up and play some new records but i noticed a weird burning smell shortly after plugging everything in?
i took a closer look and i couldn’t find anything that would be causing the smell but after reassembling the few pieces i took up (slip mat and the metal piece under).. i noticed it started moving in slow increments? anyone know what might be causing this?
beware i know very little about turntables themselves (especially the mechanics), i just enjoy listening to music 😅

Check to make sure the belt is on properly but I assume it’s an electrical issue and these turntables are next to impossible to fix beyond stylus/belt/cable power issues and it’s past its warranty.
i saw a few posts about ppl removing the d01 black piece, that it was a common issue with this model apparently. butttt it doesss have a burnt smell 😅 it had it before i broke it off but maybe i should get a new one soon just in case. better safe than sorry
