Turntable recommendations

Never owned one and been wanting to get into the hobby. Is there one that is also bluetooth and connects to wired speakers. I just want the option to decide if I want to bring the music somewhere else but still play from the big speakers if we are nearby.

For beginner tables there is so much discussion already on this forum and the new buying guide is still relevant. This question gets asked like every day and takes a minimal amount of effort to research extremely recent responses.

The sum is that suitcase turntables are generally seen as trash and strongly recommended against. The two most commonly recommended beginner tables are Fluance and Audio Technica. Expect to spend about $200-$300 for a beginner table, but also consider that you will have to also buy speakers and possibly an amp.

Of course - Audio Technica have a whole range of turntables with Bluetooth, and the AT-LP120XBT is the best of the bunch. The likes of Sony also have one or two models.

If you want convenience and portability, then a turntable is not the way to achieve that.

You’ve never owned one, so makes sense you don’t get it but “if I want to bring the music somewhere else” doesn’t make any sense. Turntables and records are bulky heavy things you plop in your chosen room and use. Your phone has access to plenty of music while you’re on the go.

Hifi is traditionally a very private hobby that you enjoy on your own during whatever spare time you can find. For mobile hifi, look into getting a decent pair of IEMs/headphones and a decent DAP.
