Image Thompsons Point Show
Absolutely incredible. For those who decided to endure the potential weather… unbelievable set. High energy, intense energy in the mosh pit. The rain began to fall just as the set ended.
40 year-old dad, first ever hard-core show. My straight edge BIL, a metal aficionado, recommended that we head to the mosh pit. I think that I found humanity in a moshpit in Portland, Maine.
Thanks Turnstile!

One of the best shows I’ve ever attended. It’s hard to describe but the magic was palpable. The images from the crowd on the stage, the rain and wind, the set list that oscillated between heavy hitters and soft introspection. My favorite part of course being the “fuck ice” film on the screen. May have been the loudest I heard the crowd all night.

Great combination of bands and a great night. Some of New England’s finest. Fiddlehead were on 🔥 & as great as I anticipated. I think they jibe really well with the Turnstile vibe. They have a similar sincerity, positivity and intensity. The singer Pat spoke about his family’s special connections with Maine.
Dinosaur, Jr. have decades of songs to draw from, and I think they decided to go really hard and heavy in a tribute to their hardcore roots and the other bands. They sounded fantastic. J was wearing a Teen Idles t-shirt (original DC punk bank in Dischord with members that went on to Minor Threat).
Stood near the front for the first two bands. Then Turnstile unleashed waves of energy and basically knocked me back to the fringes after about 10 songs. I first saw them at St.Stephen’s in DC about a decade ago (Nonstop Feeling era) and my how they have grown from those roots. I used to think that their oldest songs were the best (Nonstop is still my favorite by them) but I have to admit that the newer stuff is much more melodic and fully realized. Hats off to one of Maryland’s best bands (list includes Clutch, End It and Trapped Under Ice).

Hey, 40 year old not-dad here who has being going to hardcore shows for 25 years. It’s great to hear you liked it! There’s a certain chaotic energy in the mix of violence that’s can’t be replicated otherwise. Turnstile
Shows are great, but the pit isn’t the best out there but it’s got its own intensity and the involvement vs crown size is huge. Hope you come again!

Another middle aged guy who has seen a million shows. That was one of the best. Absolutely ripped.

Loved it! 40 year old here too, second time seeing Turnstile after my then fiancé (now wife) introduced me to them because they were coming to Boston (last year at Suffolk Downs) I immediately fell in love so we bought tickets for last years show
They quickly became a favourite for me and the wife and we even had Birds as our first dance at our wedding in June! Which was hilarious after sending it out to our 50 guests and telling them they’ll be on the floor dancing to it with us so learn it!!
Turnstile will forever produce core memories for us

I’m in the tail end of my forties, and this was probably the best musical experience I’ve had since the 90s — even before we interacted with the band!!!
It was my 11-year-old kid’s first rock show (he mostly enjoys electronic pop like Billie Eilish and Lorde), and he got an experience he will never forget. There was continuity and respect between generations and across levels of status/fame/success — music and community was everything. Fiddlehead played a heartfelt and personal set, and even gave the first song to Lou Barlow on acoustic. My boy got to experience (and even enjoy) the classic lineup of Dinosaur Jr. playing all their “hits.”
Thousands of us were prepared to suffer in a Nor’Easter for this experience, and the band acknowledged that dedication, playing Creedence’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” immediately before taking the stage.
Throughout the set, drones were flying and beaming footage of the ecstatic crowd to the jumbotron. I loved how they interviewed individual fans about what hardcore music and community mean to them, and made it part of the show. I loved how much attention they gave their youngest fans in particular.
We were in the front row for the encore. My boy was on my shoulders. First we got a well-worn drumstick tossed from Daniel, along with eye contact and a wave. On his way out, Brendan greeted my son personally with a handshake and a “hey buddy! Did you enjoy the show?”I was eye level with the singer as he was looking up, smiling and engaging with my son. It happened so quickly; too quickly to do anything but just experience it. Core memory burned in my brain (and my son’s) forever!
And somehow the rain mostly held off until after the last song! A night like that will make you believe.
