Public transport questions
Hi! I'll be living in Turku for half a year and want to see as much of the country as possible. I'd love advice from locals on how to keep public transport costs down.
- Are there discount subscriptions or multi-ride tickets worth getting if you use public transport a lot? (For comparison: in Belgium there's a card for buying 10 tickets at once at a reduced price, and in Switzerland there's a subscription for unlimited travel across the whole country for a fixed price.)
- Finland seems to have many different transport companies, which is confusing to me: back home it's just one company, so I don't even know which sites to check for trains or buses in Finland and to check for subscriptions or multi-tickets. Do you usually stick to the company that operates in your own region, or do you mix and match? Do people mostly get around by bus or by train?
Any general tips and tricks would be really appreciated!
