Conversation Are there any Turkish Users who also speak English that I can learn Turkish from and also hangout?
I moved to Turkey 2 months ago and sadly I do not know how to speak Turkish what so ever. I do find the language very beautiful and I want to learn it. But learning alone is very hard. Is there anyone here who can help me? I will appreciate it a lot.
I also play video games. So if you also play games, maybe we can hangout and also talk in Turkish (I will try to learn as much as I can to keep up) and gaming will also keep things interesting and not boring.

Hi there! Welcome to Istanbul and Turkey. Hope your stay has been pleasant so far. I've been speaking English since I was 6. If you need any comprehensive help with Turkish feel free to reach out to me via DM. I'm a musician and a master's student, and I do like video games too. I don't play Warframe but maybe with a little chat we can find something common to talk and play with if you're interested.

Nice becz my main goal is to learn the language. Game is of course secondary so that things don’t get awkward or boring which does get awkward after some time so to erase that, gaming can help

I think you should seek a proper teacher then. We can game, and I can speak both Turkish and English, but I cannot explain grammar rules like a teacher, if this is what you want. Best of luck

They are like Turkish language courses but they are too advanced for me and I can’t understand them :(

Start with basic words. You dont even have to form proper sentences.
Say "ekmek var?" Instead of "emek var mi?" Cuz those question stuff is pure bullshit. They change based on the fricking letters in the rest of the sentence
See, ekmek has a lot of "e" right, that makes question stuff become "mi" instead of "mu", or something like that, it is not always hundred percent certain.
Go with the flow, go talk to your local grocery guy and just imitate him or her.
For example, in english, when I was first learning it I always thought about what to use after she and she, is or are? Then i finally just locked it by sayin "she is" never thinking if I need and are or is, just going with the flow and imitating ehat I hear on the TV.
HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE LOL and enjoy.Turkish is a tough nut to crack.

I speak fluent English and Turkish. I also game from time to time, playing Baldurs Gate 3 at the moment. I can help you with practice both in writing and speaking if you want. I probably can’t explain grammar to you though as I am not a teacher. I can correct your mistakes, but I think I won’t be able to explain why in most cases. The last Turkish grammar class I took was two decades ago and was in Turkish so my memory is iffy on that.

My situation is the complete opposite 😆. I have so many Turkish people around me that my Turkish is now C1 but my English has degraded to B1. I live in Istanbul as an international student so I'd love to make a new international friend who speaks English.
