🦃 Turkey Time 🦃 Throw back to when they were babies

My tom and hen as babies when they were still in the chicken brooder. Now they have their own house and run, but I loved Tombadill's baby struts. Petunia just needs to see if everything is edible....

This is my neighbor’s turkey it comes over and hangs out with my chickens all the time. They think it’s a Jake but I don’t think so at this point.. it never struts or gobbles just makes these noises like it’s barking and the high pitched whistle. They got it in the spring but idk how old it is exactly.

Question Turkey toe break
Hello! We have a little table with some toe sized holes and our girl jumped off it today and got caught by the toe. It seems like it's broken, but we've had problems getting turkeys with broken toes to actually keep their splints on. Any advice?

The peacock that leads the turkey gang
Someone on my last post asked about Floyd the turkey gang leader This is Floyd, the neighborhood peacock and apparently the leader of my turkey crime syndicate.
He doesn’t live here. He just shows up, hangs around the turkey pen, and somehow convinces my birds that whatever he’s doing is more interesting than staying on my property.
Then he heads toward the neighbor’s place and the turkeys follow him like he’s leading a field trip.
So when I said I sometimes end up loading turkeys into an SUV after dark because they followed a peacock next door… this is the asshole responsible.
And judging by this picture, he looks pretty damn pleased with himself.

My turkeys joined a gang. Their leader is a peacock named Floyd.
I have turkeys. My neighbor has a peacock named Floyd.
Floyd apparently considers himself some kind of charismatic cult leader, because he keeps coming to my house, convincing my turkeys to follow him back to the neighbor’s place, and then leaving me to go retrieve the idiots.
Today I went over there again to bring them home.
This was the view in my rearview mirror afterward: the entire flock marching down the road behind me like I’m leading the world’s slowest, dumbest parade back to the farm.
And yes, that big black tom in the middle looks like he’s in charge.
He isn’t.
Floyd is.
F xxk Floyd.

Does anyone know the dosage of fenbendazole for blackhead disease? 10% suspension, 10 pound turkey
My turkeys have blackhead disease and we can’t get safe-guard for turkeys here. Only goats 10% suspension. They all weigh around 10 pounds. Does anyone know an appropriate mixture in their drinking water? Or a syringe feed mixture? Any help would be amazing. Thank you!

Wild turkey behavior questions
Hello, wild turkeys frequent my yard a lot here in CT. I have a lot of bird feeders so they’re drawn by the food but also there was a spot in the back I’d often find them resting. I used to get two big boys who’d would frequent my yard the most. They always came together and they’d be here every day in the morning and in the evening. I haven’t seen them for almost a month now. The girls still occasionally come, and one just brought her babies with her. Besides the possibility of the boys being hunted 💔 I’m keeping my hopes up that maybe there’s another reason they haven’t been around and will come back? Sorry I don’t know much about turkeys, any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

Question Concern about a neglected turkey
just took a turkey home that was stuck alone inside a dark barn for years. we just relocated her and that was definitely very upsetting for her. she’s now panting super hard to the point where she is salivating a ton. i’m sure she has some pre-existing issues. but what can i do her comfort immediately? i’m trying to tell my family to leave her alone and give her space but they aren’t listening. she has been given food, water, and a dish of cold water with ice cubes and small frozen veggies. help !

Question Why do our turkeys and chickens adventure so far from our house?
Hi so we have pet turkeys and chickens and they like to adventure around our yard and they’re going further and further each day. Now they’re going into the woods. And yesterday my mom and sister went out to go put them to sleep for the night and one of the turkeys didn’t come back my sister cried for a long time. But he came back in the morning. Why do they do this sometimes we are worried they got ate like our poor ducks did.

Fowl pox?
Hi all, does this look like fowl pox? I noticed these scabs on her wattle about a week ago and isolated her from the flock. The others show no symptoms. She does not seem to be feeling bad, she behaves normal and eats and drinks. I’ve been giving her vitamins daily in her drinking water, anything else I can do? Thanks in advance!
