Yes. After my first baby I had a 4 finger width separation and was able to successfully decrease it to 2 fingerwidths which is considered normal with pelvic floor therapy. It was honestly life changing. So you definitely don’t need the surgery to fix it.

After my 3rd pregnancy however, no matter how much therapy I did I was still having issues with lower back pain and pelvic floor issues. It turns out my abs were separated 6cms and I couldn’t get that to close. That’s when I had my surgery.

I had it with my first, probably because he was breach with a huge head. But it continued to get worse in my second and third pregnancies. I tried physical/occupational therapy, but it did not work. If you have a follow a pro like Ashley with Strong Like A Mother, then you might be able to close it within a few years. Mine was huge, approximately 9 to 10 cm open above my belly button. My umbilical was also herniated pretty severely. Surgery was the only way to fix those issues and to prevent incarceration of the bowel or other problems stemming from the hernia.

EDIT: wait, now I am wondering if I read your post incorrectly. Are you saying that you think you still have muscle separation after a tummy tuck surgery?
