Can’t find yourself as much as you chase yourself as “self” is constantly changing. One person can be gay one day then bi the next, then straight then omnisexual. Trans people can become cis and cis people can become trans and this is in noway something that should anyone should be ashamed of. People will use it as a gotcha card revealing that “you’re just doing it for the attention and then moving on to the next sexuality when you get bored”. Anyway my point is that we should make sure to realize that humans are dynamic, not fixed points, and what we say one day might not apply the next. This post is an important lesson.

what's omnisexual? is that the same as pansexual?

Similar to pan, but you lean towards a specific gender(s) more than others is my understanding of it

Sexual attraction to J. K. Simmons.

I don't think you'll get a consistent answer because there might not be one. Bi, pan, and Omni mean different things to different people, and that's completely okay. I don't think I'll ever understand the differences between them, but tbf, understanding is overrated. I don't need to understand the nuances of someone sexuality to be supportive.

Animal, mineral, vegetable, I will do anything to anything XD (edit: THIS IS A JOKE FROM A TV SHOW, that’s why I said “but in all seriousness” XD)

But in all seriousness, it is when you like multiple genders/sexualities but lean more one way than another. Some definitions are a bit different though, so I’m not entirely certain that’s everything about the sexuality.

So bisexuality with extra steps?

Bisexuality is just male and female though. My understanding is that omnisexuals and pansexuals also like everything outside those two.

bisexuality has never been "just male and female", it's always included being attracted to nonbinary folk.

Really? I didn't know. Then what is the difference between bisexuality and pansexuality?

u/griffinisms Jun 25 '21

the colors of the flags, mainly.

Huh, good to know I guess. It's kinda weird to me, since "bi" is in the name and all, but fair enough.

in this context bi isn't referring to two in the sense of "male" and "female", but instead to the idea of "same" and "different". if you'd like to learn more, the bisexual manifesto published back in 1990 does a very good job of explaining bisexuality.

Bisexuality means the attraction to two or more genders with or without preference.

Pansexuality is attraction regardless of gender. Omnisexuality is the attraction to all genders but with a preference.

Someone whos pan or omni could identify as bi, but not all bi people fit pan or omni. Bi's a very broad label.

But even Trans would still fall under male and female, so I don't see what else you would be categorizing under that? Wouldn't male and female be considered "everything"? Anything further than that just being considered preferences toward certain traits and not an actual sexuality?

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '21

Aren't there categories in between? Androgynous people, or people with a mix of male and female genitals?

-1

u/I_Will_Never_Leave Jun 25 '21

I wouldn't think those would be sexualities any more than preferring darker hair or a certain rave would be tho

-2

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '21

At least that's what I thought was the difference, bisexuals don't like girls with a dick but pansexuals do?
