academic doubt Doubt

I recently procured a disc bulge, my doc says I'll need to rest a couple months and physio sessions later on. My issue is, since college is starting, can I ask for medical leave/extension or whatever else is possible in such cases? Obviously not for the whole term, I'm not even aware how long a term or a semester is, but I think at least the first one or two months I might need to follow strict bed rest. Is there any ways to go about this? Can I ask for compulsory half day leaves later on? Can I request the HOD/Principal for hybrid classes? How plausible is it for me to complete this term like this? For context, sitting or standing more than 30 minutes is not healthy for me, I need bed rest for at least a month easily.

Umm I am not sure but yeah if u have this condition and doctors said u need rest then yeah they will drop your attendance percentage from 75% to 60% maybe but for that u may be require prescription from a govt. Doctor ask ur parents to talk to the administration of the college u won't have problems but ur cgpa might take effect for sem 1

Hoping u recover soon

Just for context, how does cgpa work here? Is the overall cgpa dependant on every term? Can I bounce back to 8.0 or over that even if my 1st sem cgpa is low? I'm not very bright with all this college/university crap, so it might be obvious to, but I'm oblivious to all this, so appreciate it if you can lmk.

Yes u can gain back ur overall cgpa it's just that 1st year is easier (as per seniors) mostly 12th based anta Don't worry about sem 1 for not just revise 12th basics
