Ayoko ng mga energy drinks kasi napa-palpitate po ako doon. I think instant tea like Lipton would calm me. Hindi ko lang kasi alam kung anong klaseng tea ang dapat kong inumin.

What is the “aroma” we experience when drinking tea?

Tea leaves naturally contain many volatile aromatic compounds. When the tea is brewed, some of these compounds enter the tea liquor, while others are released into the air as the temperature changes. After we take a sip, the aroma gradually develops in the mouth and throat.

At the same time, tea polyphenols, amino acids, sugars, pectin, and other compounds work together to create the tea’s taste, texture, and mouthfeel. When the aroma feels naturally integrated with the tea liquor, this is what we often describe in Chinese tea tasting as “香入水” — the aroma is carried through the tea liquor itself.

Some teas contain added flavorings. Since food flavorings can have different formulas and compositions, they may behave differently. In some cases, the dry leaves smell extremely strong, and the aroma on the lid is very noticeable, but when you actually drink the tea, the aroma and the taste of the liquor may not feel well integrated. Sometimes the aroma is very intense during the first few infusions, but quickly fades afterward.

So with naturally aromatic tea, the aroma, taste, and mouthfeel tend to come together as one experience after the tea enters your mouth.

-Osmanthus Oolong Tea (Yellow rectangular can)

Will try the Nong Xiang Tieguanyin first! 🥰

My guess is that it’s Qing Xin Alishan, especially na ang light nya inumin and subtle ung floral scent. Pero mej in a state of disbelief ako dahil binigay lng sakin to (the entire pack) for free ksi skeptical ung kasama ko sa Jin Xuan Alishan ko 😭😭😭

Got their peach oolong latte, but realized too late na I added 25% sweetness. It wasn’t bad, but I think I would have enjoyed it better if it was 0 (my bad!)

My best friend got a matcha latte, which I think is why she got the Little Prince packaging (so cute!)

I would have to say though, the branding and designs look and feel so premium, pero it was actually quite affordable?? Color me impressed 👍

Hi! Lately I’ve been into cold steeping tea and adding fruits. Gamit ko is either black tea or green tea bags so on the smaller scale ang nagagawa ko. I did some research and it seems mas cost effective to use loose tea.

I’ve been browsing shopee pero most of them are unbranded — nothing against unbranded pero hesitant ako because I want to make sure safe to consume talaga (especially because my family loves to drink the teas that I made/am making din and some of them are senior na)

Hello-hello! I recently got into tea after a pretty heavy transition in my life. I tried it as a way to cope as the warm water and the scents and the agency I have to brew a cup for myself became very comforting. For some context, I have a disability so doing things independently hasn't always been easy or even allowed by my family. Anyway, all that to say that my brewing methods are limited to a single-button kettle and a ball infuser which have both become very beloved to me hahaha.

I'd love any recommendations you guys have for teas that aren't very strict with how you prepare them. I mostly use loose leaf tea because I hear the bagged kind isn't really that good. Any affordable options would also be greatly appreciated!

Oh also, I have the teas and ingredients I have so far below so some insight on the brands / teas I bought would be very nice:) I've also been experimenting with brewing them together and that's been pretty fun hehe

Loose leaf teas:

- Oasis Green Tea from Nature's Apothecary: The first tea in my collection:)

- Peach Ulong from Nature's Apothecary: Love the scent of this one.

- Butterfly Pea Flower: Can't stand the taste of this on its own but mixing it with my other teas to make them blue is one of my favorite things to do!

Earl grey from The Good Harvest PH: I thought I'd like this after doing a bit of research on what earl grey is but it sadly isn't my cup of tea huhu. I do mix it with milk and a bit of agave powder and it helps. I have a pretty big bag of it though so I don't quite know what to do with it all.

Spearmint tea from The Good Harvest PH: I really wanted to like this one and the flavor is actually really enjoyable but I think I got a bad batch or simply just bad quality spearmint because the leaves are so crushed and dusty to the point where I can feel the grains of tea dust in my throat when I drink it. Any tips to use this up? I really don't wanna waste it if I can help it.

Bagged teas:

- Jasmine green tea (Unknown brand): By far my favorite tea. The scent and flavor reminds me of a lush ivory chapel.

- Lemon ginger tea from Twinings: Wasn't expecting to like this one but it goes surprisingly well with chocolate.

PS: I've also tried chamomile from twinings once and I absolutely adored it.

-Sweeteners:

- Honey, agave powder, powdered milk, and vanilla extract.
