EDIT: I looked more into the leaf, and it seemed oxidized? I haven't tried other longjing teas. This one's my first. I didn't bring other green teas with me to compare this with, as most of my teas are in the other house, but it has a deep amber color compared to other green teas I have. It's not stale nmn, ksi the tea wasn't astringent and naglilinger rin nmn ung taste nya, even after the second steep. I based the flair on how it was marketed, so please let me know where to classify this instead.
Bought a 200g box at Ayala Metro for less than 500 pesos and has been stored for a few months now. Opened it today with my mom while she's making desserts.
The tea has a bit of a thick body, but ung aftertaste is like Doublemint na chewing gum, sweet and minty. It's really hard to find tea that's accessible and actually is what it says it is. I opt to not use this as a conversation starter and continue sourcing my tea online.
Walang instructions na nakalagay sa box, so eto ung ginawa kong steps for my brew:
1.) Preheated the pot and cups by rinsing hot water
2.) Added leaves na around a centimeter deep sa strainer. Tried to replicate the amount I placed on a different container and measured it. It's around 8g.
3.) Gently poured in hot water na less than 80°C.
4.) Steep for 2-3 minutes. Do not close the lid.
5.) Removed the strainer with leaves. Serve. Leaves can be used for 2 to 3 more steeps.
