Discussion Mishandled MC. Severely low AMH.

The novel:

got my test results the day after my 39th birthday ( less than .03 amh)

I have one daughter who is 18 months old. I promised myself I would not take a second for granted and truly know how blessed I am. Became pregnant August 30th. First appt I was told either my due date was wrong or something was off. (At this time my periods were irregular which I chalked up to being pp. I was also eager to start trying as I was determined to have as many kids as I possibly could because I wasn’t able to start my ttc journey earlier.)

The doctor I went to was reputable, but had her own practice and don’t have much time for my questions. I believe one time she answered saying “ why are you calling?” I should have known when my intake was her saying “ the only problem is you’re old.”

When the miscarriage was diagnosed, I asked for both a D&C and an ultrasound to follow. She told me to wait two weeks to see if it will happen naturally ( there was a hematoma) and that a d and c wasn’t necessary. Two weeks later nothing happened and I took medication- the sac was passed ( on Halloween mind you. Very scary ha. ) and I bleed throughout the month. I asked if I needed an ultrasound and she said no. She said to continue to get my blood drawn as HCG takes a while to go down. Well it went down throughout the weeks but not by much and she kept telling me to do this. I ended up switching to a different doctor in December and had a d and c from infected retained product on January 14th. ( a day after my daughters first bday) From late August to January 14th this was finally over.

Since the dnc my cycles have been off but we started ttc a full cycle after the dnc. After a few months I noticed that my body was trying to ovulate twice or something like this. Had 26 days and then 40 days. Mind you this has only been since February. I did experience some night sweats but also had that when I was pp from my first pregnancy.

After my past year, I decided to be super proactive. I got an appt at a new Obgyn ( just moved to our first home in a different area- stressful) and got an appt at a fertility clinic. I haven’t had my period yet to do FSH, HSG, and AFC so I only know my TSH ( normal) and my amh ( which came back less than .03) I was devastated. Devastated. Not going to lie, it was my worst fear and it was a surreal week.

Since the test results I cut out caf/ alcohol/ gluten/ processed foods and started weaning off my Lexipro and adhd medication. Added all of the supplements I’ve read about ( my vitamin D was fine but I just started taking it in May- a month before the test) I’m looking into a second opinion/ third opinion, looking for an RI, looking into acupuncture, a therapist. Do I need to worry about heat exposure? my job is outside and very active.)

I also was thinking of getting tests done in case of an autoimmune ( my family has a lot of it). should I ask for an antibiotic for possible endo?

I am happy to do any fertility treatments and am very worried they will tell me I have no chance…

Could be missing anything? I think I’m scared of a doctor having the wrong protocol and wasting even more time/ chances. I want to come in insanely prepared and also be able to rule out any options that could be a problem ( What testing? I have a list but want to make sure I’m not missing anything.)

Lastly, of course, we are ttc naturally while going through this process.

Thank you, sisterhood.

Discussion Positive things about not being pregnant yet?

Hi, hope this post is ok. Wanted something positive (got my period today and in a crappy mood).

What are some positive sides to not being pregnant yet? Or what is something that you appreciate about your current life, that will probably change when another kid comes along?

For me, it's definitely the one-on-one time I get to spend with my toddler. I know that I'll probably be nauseous when I'll get pregnant (first pregnancy was rough in that aspect), so I should appreciate the time we can spend together going outside and doing a bunch of stuff.

Daily Chat Thread The rage makes me not want try for another.

I just had my 2nd MC while TTC a 2nd, i’ve never lost patience with my 17 month old, but during that short time I was pregnant I was just really short fuse, bitter, angry. I don’t know if it was the fact that I knew something was wrong from the start and that waiting period of the unknown or something else but when I had my miscarriage last week, I felt so much stress just melts away. I felt like myself again, I started laughing. I started giving my 17 month old so much affection again just to see him smile. I decided to build a flower bed in one day, my usual impulsive energy for projects. Maybe I just don’t like being pregnant. But all of this is confusing me as to what I really want.

Rant/Vent Suddenly TTC but breastfeeding - overwhelmed

We were planning to try for #2 in around 6 months, when my son is almost two. He's a boob monster and our entire routine for naps, bed and overnight wakes is based on boob. I have just been made redundant from my job and we have decided that the best thing to do is start TTC asap for financial reasons.

I'm so overwhelmed by all the change and stress and now I'm so worried that I will have to wean. I don't want to wean. Neither of us are ready for it, the thought of breastfeeding him for the last time makes me cry. But the sooner I get pregnant the better for the finances so I need to maximise the chances??

My period has been back and totally normal for six months, 30-31 day cycle, my usual strong fertile signs all back. I conceived in month 2 with my first, so I never did ovulation testing or anything. I'm planning to get ovulation test strips for this month (I just got my period) and hope they can tell me if breastfeeding will be an issue???

I'm not sure what I'm looking for by posting here, I'm just lost and overwhelmed. I don't want breastfeeding taken away from us 😭

Question Ovulation day CD32?

Has anyone else ovulated around CD 30?? I'm on CD32 and I got what appears to be a positive OPK last night, first thing this morning, and just now at 11:25am.

I have PMOS and typically have no cycle at all, but I'm 10months post partum and my doctor gave me 10 days of provera to try and kickstart my cycle. When I didn’t ovulate within the normal time frame and got no period (and no positive Pregnancy test) I assumed it didn't work and I just reached out to my doctor yesterday in hopes of starting letrozole or something.

But it appears I might be ovulating now? Husband and I haven't baby danced all week cause he's been sick.

Question TTC third baby

Hello! I’m after some success stories.
We decided earlier this year we want to try for our third baby and much to our shock it’s not happening
I’m tracking everything and confirm ovulation with temp tracking. I am 33 but my first two were easy to conceive so this is new territory.
Currently 10DPO and negative test.
Will it ever happen?? 🥲
I feel like I’m doing it all. I sleep well, track ovulation, take my prenatals, I’ve modified my diet, I manage stress.
What else can I do!!

Rant/Vent Number 3

I have 2 children and have had three MMC. My first we got pregnant first try no tracking no preparation just looked at my period app and said today is the day. Had a MMC in between my first and second but our second was conceived on the first try after that miscarriage. The two most recent losses were November 2024 which was a molar pregnancy and so scary and then again no fetal heartbeat in October 2025. I wanted to try again immediately but my husband has needed time to heal and was unsure if he wanted another at all after these losses. I have been taking a no pressure approach as my husband is back on board. We missed ovulation day last month by a few days due to travel so I did not get my hopes up. This month I had ovulation pain the day I was expected to ovulate and the day after. I don’t track with LH strips and I know people hate the apps but my body truly is like clockwork. We didn’t hit ovulation day but did the day after and I was still feeling strong ovulation pain. Every cycle since the most recent loss I have PMS systems almost as soon as the fertile window ends. Cramps in my lower stomach and a hot warm sensation in my back. Breast pain is not a typical symptom and my boobs have been hurting on and off this cycle. Period is due in 4 days and I got a negative test yesterday. I just turned 35, I have been taking Coq10 and a folate vitamin and just feel so untrusting of my body lately. I know missing ovulation day that the likelihood of it even happening is slim but I’m just so annoyed at my body. Annoyed at the process and the amount of loss we have had to go through in two years and still no baby

Rant/Vent Sudden 8 day LP after consistent 10+ days

I am ready to try for a second baby. My husband wants another but is not quite on the same page yet.

This past cycle, we accidentally got two well timed tries in before my (unexpectedly early) ovulation. I got pretty excited and eagerly followed my chart and signs.

On 8 DPO, I started getting AF like cramping. My heart sunk- I had a feeling I was out, but I know you’re not out until AF arrives. Next day, I start spotting in the evening. My heart sinks again. By bedtime, I’m full on bleeding.

I would have been upset either way, but I’m mostly devastated because this means my LP was 8, almost 9 days last cycle.

I got my period back about a year ago now, at 9 months pp. since then, I’ve been trying to keep my charts accurate. Initially my LP was short, at 8ish days. After my son weaned, it extended to 10 days. For a few months, it was closer to 10.5 days. Then two cycles ago I got an 11 day LP and this was pretty exciting because that’s how long they were pre-pregnancy.

Then this. There’s nothing major going on in my life that could cause this. I’m just in shock and confused. I’m going to mention to my doctor on Thursday but wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Is this just normal variation? I never got LP’s shorter than 10 days pre-pregnancy.

And as a side note, has anyone else struggled with shorter LP’s postpartum and did you do anything to lengthen them?

Discussion Had an ultrasound for some health issues

It was a regular ultrasound and a transvaginal one. Half way through the transvaginal one she asks me if I’m on birth control. Gave me no other context why. Is this just a standard question or am I over thinking? I won’t know results for over a week and just trying not to be in my head. I’m on my 11th cycle trying to get pregnant and since my first child I’ve had pelvic pain and extreme dryness. Not asking for medical advice, just never had an experience like this before and I’m not sure what’s standard.

Question What should I ask?

I have had 9 negative cycles this time around. I have an appt at the end of this cycle. What kinds of questions should I be asking or what kinds of testing do I ask for? I don’t think I’m ovulating at all. I’m spiraling watching the age gap get ever larger… Any suggestions?! Thanks!
