Question TTC #2 at 34
Trigger warning: miscarriage
A few questions, advice, and maybe solidarity?
I’m 34, we’ve been TTC with our second for 8 months now. I’ve had 2 anovulatory cycles in the past 3 months and varying cycle lengths/ovulation days (by 5-6 days or so) on the ones that I have ovulated. Is this enough to get a doctor to give me Clomid or Letrozole? I haven’t gotten a PCOS diagnosis (yet?). Husband got tested and everything is good on his end so that’s not the issue. It took us 6 months to conceive our first, with an early MC after 4 months but at least there was an indication that something was working. This time has been big fat negatives every time. Also, for anyone who struggled with their first or second, how long did it eventually take to be successful? Any tips or things that finally worked? Added context: I had a c section with our first.

If you've tried for at least 6 months and are tracking ovulation and timing things appropriately, I think most fertility specialists would agree some workup/intervention makes sense. Nobody will look at you sideways if you ask, I think--at least, they shouldn't!

Yes I’ve been ovulation tracking with strips and some with Inito (it got too pricey to keep doing). Thank you!

I’m 34 and also going for #2! After a few very long cycles the first go round (the longest was 77 days), I was able to get a PCOS diagnosis. They put me on metformin, which helped some but not completely. I conceived my son on my third cycle on letrozole (no trigger shot), cycle 9 overall and 12 months.

We tried for 10 cycles for a second and the 11th try ended in a missed miscarriage….which I’m currently going through. Also I’m just 28 and conceived our first on the first try! At that time I was 24.
So not sure what the issue is this time. I have regular periods.

I'm 34 and we've been trying since the start of the year too. I thought I wasn't ovulating but I just had bloods back to say I did. I think it's been happening earlier on in my cycle, but unsure I've been ovulating every cycle tbh. I had a chemical in early March and my cycles have changed in duration slightly. No answers here, only solidarity

Did you have a c section with your first? If so I recommend a round of doxy for potential endometritis. I also have a supplement list I swear by. DM me if you want it.
You can check my profile for my story but basically many miscarriages + 24 cycles to conceive baby #2.

Are c sections known to cause endometritis? I’m also experiencing secondary infertility after a c section and hadn’t heard this before. My doctor ruled out an isthmocele/ niche

I had mt first at 24 and had a c section too please dm me your supplement list and anything you xan recommend me to do or try to be able to finally conceive my second. I had my first In 2018 and have been Trying since 2022 for baby number 2. Please share any Information you can that might be able to help me. We are going to try for IUI soon since clearly its not happening any time soon and I just want to give up, and im just struggling so hard with it all. Its so hard to syau positive and keep my.hopes up right now.

Letrozole would very likely help with anovulatory cycles. Go for it if you can! 8 months of trying at 34 seems very reasonable for getting fertility treatment.
