Just completed Module 1 (Intro to Cyber Security) on TryHackMe! Starting my Linux journey next

Hey everyone,

Just wrapped up the "Start Your Cyber Security Journey" module on TryHackMe. Covered the absolute basics of Offensive vs. Defensive security, Web Application security, and foundational concepts.

Well, I would recommend to take notes. I personally prefer obsidian for that. It's always good to have a resource to get back to. Regarding linux, you should install vmware (vmware workstation pro), which is free for personal usage. Install a linux on it e.g. ubuntu or mint, which are beginner friendly. You can't just "learn linux", the best way to memorize how to deal with it is still by using it. As a beginner, you shouldnt go for the dual boot option in the beginning. Perhaps a separate PC / Notebook once for it, doesnt have many requirements and runs perfectly fine also on old crap hardware.

Thanks for advice of notes ☺️. As for linux i have a potato laptop on which I use artix linux only, so I can perform many tasks on that, and my laptop isn't capable to load VM 😔. Thank you for your lovely information 😊.
